We had a wonderful time at this property. The lodge was warm, clean & welcoming. The resident peacock & ducks were great company! My family & I had a lovely time & found it easy to do day trips to nearby Oxford & other places.
We stayed here as a base point for Oxford and it was ideal. Plenty of space and gardens next to the river were lovely. The cottage is well equipped with all you need and there is a Sainsbury’s very nearby.
We had a very nice stay.
Good location, clean, fully equipped, everything was fine.
The booking worked very well. Thanks to Berry and Lyn for the on-site support.
From here we visited London, Oxford City Centre and Stonehenge
There was a funny nice peacock on the premises :-).
The property was well presented, clean and comfortable. The welcome gifts were much appreciated. We were pleased to briefly meet the resident peacock! Our stay coincided with a heat wave, with temperatures above 30C for 3 days. This made it difficult to cool the bedrooms to help with sleeping. I contacted Lyn who was able to provide a fan, which did make a difference. She was apologetic for not being able to do more.Thank you for your concern, Lyn.
Great host, great property. Everything was as described, in fact I'd argue it was better than shown in the listing. Pictures don't do it justice. Property has its own ducks and peacock. Plenty of wooden cabins / cottages on a large estate. Host lives in a stone cottage on the same estate. Always popping in to ensure everything is working. Plenty of parking space. Heating was good (very toasty). Only downside was the Wi-Fi was spotty.
A real pleasure. Perfect for visiting Oxford and the Silverstone GP. Everything went like clockwork, from booking, arrival & departure - the hosts could not have been more accommodating. Really enjoyed the wildlife there too - made it feel like a real country cottage. Thanks
Fantastic hosts, Barry & Lyn, will make you feel like you're staying with family.

About the host

We are a business which has been run by the same family for over sixty years and during that time the major part of that business has been hospitality. We would like to think that this has given us an eye for detail and an insight into the needs of our guests. We are happy to say (most of the time) that one of those original family members is still with us together with his wealth of experience and knowledge of local history and events. The downside is the old codger continually vents anger towards the internet and social media !! Our location which is rural and yet on the city boundary gives easy accessibility to Oxford with its vast wealth of architecture, history and present day activities. Our close proximity to the major road and motorway network gives our guests easy access to other main cities and towns of similar interests. We are also within a short drive of the Cotswolds and Chilterns. The main Oxford hospitals, language schools, science parks, business hubs and laboratories and within easy reach. The railway and bus stations are close by giving the journey time to London of approx. one hour.
Barry and Lyn look forward to welcoming you here at Cherbridge Cottages.
