Our 53m2 luxury yurt suite – one of the largest yurts on the finca – is finished to a very high standard by a local interior designer and, with its own walled garden and terrace, provides superb sustainable accommodation for a family, or for a couple who prefer lots of private space.
Inside this authentic Mongolian yurt, which measures 8m in diameter, special touches include plush fabrics, wood-style flooring and handpicked antique Mongolian hardwood furniture such as the super king-size bed. There are also two single beds, additional z-bed and travel cots can be added in this ample sized yurt. The solid floor and traditional two-skin cover keep the yurt draft-free and ensure a constant ambient temperature. A central skylight allows ventilation as well as romantic star-gazing.
Outside, the yurt benefits from a private, tranquil setting, which makes it perfect for family use. Its 325 sq m split-level terrace and garden is stonewalled and gated, with plenty of safe play space, and features a shaded daybed and hammock (parents of young children should be aware there are steps between the two terrace levels). The spacious bathroom oozes indulgence, with a wooden tub, walk-in shower, W.C, and feature marble floor and sink. There is a covered outdoor kitchen, with granite-topped breakfast bar, which is fully equipped for self-catering. An additional covered terrace area has teak furniture for six, for al-fresco dining in the sun or under the stars and there is an exotically planted gravelled area with barbecue and a daybed to relax.
The elevated position of the yurt suite means its private outdoor area – complete with sun loungers – has fabulous views over the whole eco retreat, down to the sea and the local fishing village of Arrieta. There is also a second, shared, shower room and toilet, covered kitchen and lounge in the pool and chill-out area nearby.
