The Beach Barn sits in the quiet woods, at the base of a dune, with direct access and a short walk to a beautiful private Harbert Beach on Lake Michigan. Part of a small association, with a handful of longtime residents, the area has a rich tradition of quiet family gatherings, appreciation for nature, and a casual and respectful attitude towards neighbors. Renters of The Beach Barn will be expected to align with these core values, and will be welcomed and appreciated by others in the area. Thanks to our great neighbors and community, whether at the house, or on the beach, Harbert is among the best vacation spots along the lake.
The home itself has ample space for the whole family to spread out and relax. You will enjoy the large enclosed patio with fireplace. On that same floor is a beautiful sitting room with fireplace and television, immaculate kitchen with everything you would need to cook for multiple guests, a large dining area, and a master bedroom suite. The second floor offers four bedrooms, including a second master suite, a guest room with a king bed, a guest room with two twin beds, a bunk room that sleeps 8, three full baths, washer/dryer, and a rec room with a video game machine, pool table and plenty of room to relax. This home has everything including a a private pool and spa. Don't let it pass you by!

Wonderful stay

Gorgeous, clean, and inviting inside and out. We loved the spacious bedrooms, fun game room, outdoor pool, and fire pit. The beach is a short walk away and feels very private.

Perfect extended family vacation spot

This is the first rental property that I have not been disappointed in when walking through the door. It is just as the pictures portrayed. The pool, hot tub and fire pit were fabulous. The setting was beautiful and the private beach was gorgeous. Our family loved every aspect of this property.

We had a wonderful time at the Beach Barn. Plenty of room, private, fewer bugs than we thought, and the owner (Pam) was very attentive to us. We will very likely stay there again!

Wonderful property

The house is beautiful, clean and was the perfect size for our group of 13 adults and kids. Perfect spot for a quiet, laid back vacation. Communication with the owner was great, too. We would definitely rent this home again!

Wonderful family vacation spot

Beautiful home in idyllic setting. Access to semi-private beach is an easy walk, some steps but our three year old had no trouble with it. Spotlessly clean and well supplied kitchen.

We loved our time at the Beach Barn! It was such a welcomed vacation. We really enjoyed the pool, hot tub and the kids loved the game room. We spent our evenings watching the sunset on the beach and making s'mores at the fire pit. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Wonderful Family Vacation

Spent a week with my children and grandchildren (2 and 3 years old). Loved every minute of our vacation in this well-supplied, immaculate and beautiful home. Walk to the beach was up and over the sand dune and we went every morning and rarely saw anyone else. Heated pool was great for afternoon swims. Rec room was great for kids to run and tumble. Hope to visit again next year!

Great Family Week

Our family (7 adults and 6 children age 1-13) likes to get together every summer. The house was perfect for everyone--space for fun in groups large or small. The upstairs family/game room was very popular with the children. We had great weather but this room is especially good for a rainy day. Everything worked and the kitchen has lots of room for people to participate.

Great for Everyone

We are a family of three generations who travel together once a year on a beach vacation. The Beach Barn with its beautiful property served all of our needs. The surrounding property was so much fun with visits from deer, the peaceful walk to the beach and the fun pool and hot tub. The inside of the house is perfect for a large family of diversified ages. Everything we needed was right there on the property. Pam was very easy to reach and her responses were always quick. We all agreed that this vacation ranked very high on our long list of travel experiences.

wonderful home and perfect location for family gathering

The home is beautiful inside and out- fairly easy access to gorgeous private beach- it's a bit of a walk but no problem at all for our group. Enjoyed the huge game/TV room and the bunk room was a hit with the kids. Kitchen is spacious and well- equipped. Grill worked well and the pool and spa were perfect- we really appreciated the heated pool and hot tub as our weather was cool and rainy much of the week. Having a heated pool kept that option open for our kiddos! Our host was very responsive to any questions/concerns that arose during our stay

Luxury meets Michigan outdoors

The kitchen was large enough for our family of 11 to gather and cook together every day. The large lower level windows provided a beautiful view of the woods and morning deer sightings! Bedrooms and bathrooms were thoughtfully laid out. There was more than enough room for everyone to have their own space. The kids loved the bunk room. Several nights we all hung out in the game/media room. The outdoor pool and hot tub were a plus for mornings and nights at the house. Most days we enjoyed being on the beach. It was a quick and easy walk to the beach through the woods. The private beach was great and provided the family plenty of room to spread out and play. Supplied beach towels and a washer and dryer were a plus! It was wonderful to feel so close to nature at the house, yet so easy to get to local restaurants and shops.

Beautiful getaway in the woods...and beach!

We had a wonderful week at the Beach Barn-what a beautiful, clean home with plenty of space for all of us hang out together and also get our own space when needed. Nestled in the trees, it was such a treat to be surrounded by greenery in every direction. Lots of deer sightings in the yard too which the (city) kids really loved! What is amazing is that in a matter of minutes, you can also be on a beautiful private beach spending countless hours swimming, playing in the sand and skipping rocks on the lake. Did I mention the big pool and hot tub too??! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

A wonderful week at the Michigan Beach Barn

We had a wonderful week at the Michigan Beach Barn! Given the current climate this house makes for the perfect getaway, as the pool and the beach provided more than enough entertainment for the week. The pool provided hours of fun, was clean and well kept. We also felt lucky to have access to the beach, as so many areas along the IN/MI coast do not have that luxury given the high lake water levels. The beach was private and quiet. Overall, the house was extremely clean and well appointed. The week could not have gone smoother. We didn't need or want for anything!

Gorgeous, Clean, Roomy House!

We Loved staying at the Beach Barn! Perfect for a large family. It was extremely clean which is a priority for us. The homeowner thought of just about everything. There are loads of amenities including a huge game room, swimming pool, fire pit, hot tub, basketball hoop and a large screened in porch with gas/wood burning fireplace. We never wanted to leave. The beach is about a 5 minute walk up a pretty steep uphill and then downhill both ways. This was only a problem for my 80 year old mom but she did it twice anyway. Apparently the beach is smaller than usual but we still had room to play Spike Ball and other yard games. In order to keep it clean, the pool requires that the guest pour in a pouch of oxidizer before closing the cover each day. I have already recommended the house to several people and would definitely stay there again.
