About Linda Nelson
Chad and I have spent the last 28 years working together, the last 26 years married to one another, and the last 19 years as business partners. We have raised 2 amazing kids--a son and a daughter--who are both grown and on their own. As we face an empty house, our wanderlust is reawakening. Even though we live at the foot of the Rocky Mountains--one of the most beautiful places on Earth--we are excited to begin bouncing around the world. We hate to travel like tourists! We want to be where the locals live, eat and play. We are considerate guests (our mothers both taught us to leave a place better than you found it) and attentive hosts. While we like to travel with a plan, it is held with loose hands to make room for unexpected discoveries. We don't like to pack too many places into any one trip because we like to linger. We love meeting new people--people who may not share our views (but will be respectful of them) or our experiences--because nothing can beat a slow delicious dinner with good wine and intelligent conversation!
Linda Nelson purchased this Guest House in 2012
Why Linda Nelson chose Longmont
Chad is a Boulder native. Linda grew up outside of Chicago but claimed Colorado as her future home at the age of 7. After 10 years of living in Phoenix, we joyfully returned to the shadows of the Rocky Mountains and have been in living in Longmont since 1999. In 2012 we began looking for a house that could accommodate large crowds because we love filling our home with people. This amazing neighborhoods and our much-loved home fit the bill. The carriage house was the cherry on top! Prospect is absolutely the most amazing place to live--filled with diverse people, incredible architecture and plenty of quirky charm. We have designed and appointed our carriage house to be a welcoming and inviting place for guests both new and old.
What makes this Guest House unique
There are few places in the world where you can find urban sophistication and amenities backing up to horse pastures and with unadulterated views of some of the most breathtaking mountain views in the world. Prospect is such a place!

Carriage House Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is very clean and nicely decorated. There were even some Christmas decorations to make it feel festive. The neighborhood is very, very nice and quiet also. We slept very well all week. The unit has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The owner was always very quick to respond when communicating. It is a perfect place for us to stay while visiting family in Longmont.
Comfy and Clean
Very comfortable, quiet, and clean Prospect property. It had all the amenities to make our stay in Longmont enjoyable.
Very convenient, great location
The Carriage House is located in a convenient area of town and well-furnished with a variety of kitchen appliances - great for meal preparation. The heating and security systems are high-tech, allowing for comfort, safety, and a smooth, easy check-in/check-out process. Linda and Chad are very responsive and make themselves available to answer any questions/concerns.
Please note that pre-approved pets are not permitted on the bed or any furniture, a detail that is not listed in the online information but rather the printed binder located within the property. This is important information for people who are traveling with Emotional Support Animals (ESAs), and will not be able to have the animal rest in their lap or cuddle with them on the couch or bed to offer emotional support.
Pretty perfect for two
My husband and I stayed here for a week and loved everything about this carriage house. It is immaculately clean and seemed larger than it is because of the layout. There are plenty of windows - very bright and sunny. Kitchen was great and stocked with almost every item for cooking easy meals. It is conveniently located in a beautiful neighborhood with cute coffeeshops and restaurants but also a short drive from major stores. It felt like home and we wanted for nothing. Only drawback is regulating the heat was tricky so sometimes it was too hot for us. But there are plenty of windows that open. Other than that, perfect in every way and just the right size for the two of us.
Looking forward to a return visit!
Super cute carriage house in a beautiful neighborhood. Perfect arrangement for my husband and me. Walking distance to great restaurants. We look forward to booking again very soon.
Everything as promised!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay! The space was perfect for the two of us. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was great and had all that we needed and loved having the washer/dryer in the unit. We had everything we needed ~ great neighborhood to walk around with plenty of amenities!
Dwell Magazine called Prospect "America's Coolest Neigborhood." We couldn't agree more! The tree-lined streets are filled with interesting architecture, funky colors and wonderful people. We have parks with hammocks, a lovely community pool, restaurants, bars, art galleries, antiques, boutiques, hair salons and a multitude of ways to exercise--all just outside the door.
