Charming Salema Ocean View Villa – Private Pool – Air Conditioning - ★★★★★

Casa Caravela (180 m²) is a recently renovated and charming split-level villa set on a generous 1,400 m² plot, which also includes a separate garden studio. The villa is located on a hillside near Salema Beach (Praia da Salema) and Salema’s center, on a quiet cul-de-sac secured by a private gate. Enjoy sunsets and ocean views from the elevated, south-facing terrace, or walk to the beach and nearby restaurants.

The fully air-conditioned villa is tastefully furnished and offers plenty of poolside and terrace seating. It is surrounded by a private driveway and a lush tropical garden, complete with a perfectly manicured lawn and gently swaying palm trees. Wi-Fi and internet TV are available.

On the lower floor, you’ll find three spacious double bedrooms, each with direct access to the secluded private pool (4 m by 8 m, depth ranging from 0.9 m to 1.8 m). One of the bedrooms includes a lounge bench that can be converted into an additional bed. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, a separate shower, and a toilet. The second bathroom, a separate toilet, and built-in closets are also located on this floor.

Upstairs, there is a large, fully equipped kitchen separated from the open-plan ocean-view lounge and dining area, which features a fireplace, a marble floor, and adjacent spacious terraces overlooking the sea. A third toilet and a cloakroom can also be found on this level.

There are three terraces in total: one at pool and garden level with a built-in barbecue, another larger terrace overlooking the pool with stunning ocean views—ideal for sunbathing and alfresco dining—and a cozy terrace next to the dining area for shelter on windy days. Behind the villa is a spacious backyard and parking area.

At the rear of the property, there is a brand-new separate garden studio. It has two bedrooms separated by a bathroom with a shower and a toilet. The first bedroom features a double or king-size bed, while the second bedroom has a bunk bed that sleeps two people.

Salema’s wide, sandy Blue Flag beach offers safe bathing, with beach loungers, umbrellas, and cabanas available for rent, and the possibility of enjoying a massage. In the village, you’ll find small supermarkets, as well as several wonderful local restaurants and bars—all within walking distance of the villa.

Perfect villa for our family group of 6. Photos don’t really do it justice, felt very spacious and beautifully furnished. Just beware of steep hill as it may not suit those with older group members or young children.Would definitely book again!

Lovely, spacious place to relax.

This was our second time here and it was as lovely as the first. The pool area was great, especially so on a few windy days as it is well sheltered. We spent almost all our days by the pool or at the beach - Salema beach is beautiful and a short (steep) walk away - or on the upstairs terrace. The home is really well laid out with plenty of space to relax. We ate in the nearby restaurants and would thoroughly recommend Em Lume Brando and A BOIA. We are already planning when we can come back.

Lovely home and great location

The property is exactly as shown on the listing and the indoor and outdoor spaces worked really well for the four of us. Salema beach is a gorgeous sandy beach. We enjoyed drinks at Atlantico, had great food at A Boia for breakfast and dinner and a fabulous dinner at Em Lume Brando. We did not want to leave the house when time came to go and would definitely like to come back. Thank you Hans and Wil for allowing us to share your place.

Lovely location

The villa is in a lovely location with a beautiful sea view from the upstairs balcony. It is well appointed and the owners are responsive and helpful. We spent a lovely week reacquainting ourselves with the beach and resturants in gorgeous Salema. Cleanliness great inside but outside around the pool was a bit neglected. We also had more than a few niggles to chase which meant the stay wasn't as relaxing as it could have been.

Excellent villa in beautiful location

We were hugely impressed with this beautiful villa in a stunning town. The photos don't do this property justice. All the communal space is larger than it appears and makes for excellent hosting. The villa was clean and spacious in a quiet/private street with excellent location to the shops, beach and local restaurants Salema is a quant town with a great choice of restaurants and an unspoilt beach. We had a pram with a toddler and everywhere we went was accessible and family friendly. There are some steep hills down to the town but it's a very short walk. We'd love to come back to this location.

Property was ideal for a family holiday two sets of grandparents and grandchildren. Everyone really enjoyed the pool. The photographs do not do it justice the property is 5 star all the way. Well kitted out including barbecue and 2 fridges. The only downside its at the top of a very steep hill. We would have no hesitation booking again. We had a couple of small issues which where rectified very quickly after contacting Hans and Wil. Super holiday was had by all.

Beautiful home in quiet, picturesque location

House was even better than expected. Everything about it worked well for our family. The home is well appointed and very comfortable. Plenty of supplies for cooking and entertaining. A/C works well on hot days...pool was a perfect temperature. Outdoor spaces well appointed and very functional. Views out to ocean are stunning. Would definitely recommend to a family looking to get away and relax in comfort. We were very happy with this property and will definitely choose it again when we return

The house is beautifully decorated and the communal areas are very spacious. The garden looks to have been recently landscaped and, along with the pool makes a lovely outdoor space. We were a group of ten and the space worked well for us with four teenagers sharing the garden studio (which is compact but well designed). Salema itself is our new favourite place in the Algarve, we absolutely loved it and couldn’t fault it. We enjoyed eating out in the pizzeria, Boia and Agua na Boca (the latter being a more formal restaurant). Hans and Will were very responsive and helpful when we experienced teething issues. The only criticism I could voice is that more/better pillows would make for an even more comfortable stay. The beds themselves were very comfy! Thank you.

Perfect spot on the Algarve

The villa is exactly as described and Hans and Wil are certainly premier hosts. They were helpful at the time of the booking and with enquiries about aspects of the house and location in the weeks before. There were a couple of small niggles while we were there but again all handled very promptly. The villa has the most perfect view of the sea and, with its location, has all day sunshine. It’s in a very quiet street. The layout of the house is super and easily enjoyed by all ages. Salema is picture perfect with a good choice of restaurants and bars and a fabulous beach. It truly is the perfect spot for those wanting to get away and enjoy the picturesque (and slightly less touristy) SW Algarve.

Villa very well represented in the pictures and discription. Wonderful pool and space in the Villa. Salema has many great restaurants, but be ready for the walk up the hill back to the Villa. Great communication with owner, small problem with cleaner easily fixed. Evening's can get cooler so pack a sweatshirt. Great break in a lovely Villa in a quiet road, no noise at all. If you want a laidback small resort with a wonderful beach, not busy with tourists this is for you. Thank you. Many places in the Algarve on more than 45 mins away jn a car.

Great Location

This is a nice house with excellent outdoor space. It would have been nice to have more bedroom storage as ours was a 2 week vacation including family who travelled from 4 different countries and the cupboards in some of the rooms weren't really adequate. Everyone loved the decor and the beds were comfortable. This was our first experience of arriving at a villa that did not have a welcome pack/hamper. Our previous villa hosts left a full fridge of wine, beer, cheese, crackers, coffee, tea, bread, water and other treats. Not even a bottle of water was disappointing and surprising.

Wundervoller Aufenthalt in der Villa mit Traumblick

Wir, eine Gruppe aus 8 Freunden, waren für eine Woche Gäste in dieser wunderbaren Villa. Es hat uns ausgezeichnet gefallen. Wir waren alle der Minung, dass die Villa noch schöner ist, als auf den Bilder rüberkommt.Man hat von der Terasse eine herrliche Aussicht, die wir sehr genossen haben. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet, man findet in der Küche und überall alles, was man braucht, es waren keine Wünsche offen. Der Pool- und der Poolbereich ist sehr schön, von Liegen zu Sonnenschirmen, zu Poolhandtüchern, alles da.Die Einrichtung der Villa ist sehr geschmackvoll. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohlgefühlt und wollten überhaupt nicht mehr abreisen. Salema ist ein kleiner netter Ort, die Strände in und rund um Salema sind traumhaft schön. Es gibt viel zu sehen und zu entdecken. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und möchten uns herzlich bei den Gastgebern bedanken, dass wir eine Woche in der allerbesten Ferienvilla leben durften.

A wonderful villa in a lovely area

We could not have asked for more for our first family holiday abroad since Covid. The villa worked brilliantly both for sleeping the 10 of us and living arrangements. It was cleverly laid out so it was safe for the children and brilliantly equipped. The owners responded to questions promptly and troubleshot the couple of hiccups we had in a swift and positive way. Would thoroughly recommend.

Fabulous property in a beautiful location

The property is exactly as presented and described on the Vrbo website. It is beautifully clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone, particularly those with young children We had four kids with us ranging in age from 6 months to 5 years and they had the time of their lives. Selema itself is a beautiful village with great restaurants and bars. You will not need to leave it. There is a large supermarket just a few kilometres away and an adequate golf course, Santo Antonio. The property manager proved elusive to us but the owners are an absolute delight and very responsive. Don't hesitate to book
