Thorneymire Barn nestles in a secluded location just outside Appersett, 1½ miles from the bustling market town of Hawes in Wensleydale. Enjoy the wildlife in the woodlands opposite, which slope down to a picturesque spot by Widdale Beck, and are home to red squirrels, roe deer and many species of birds. Beautifully renovated by the owners, this spacious barn conversion offers comfortable holiday accommodation for two people and has an additional sofa bed downstairs (to provide flexible sleeping arrangements) and has the convenience of a ground floor wet room. Tastefully decorated with stylish and quirky furnishings, the owners have taken care of your every need, and there is underfloor heating in the bedroom and bathrooms. The comfortable living room, with its relaxing sofa and chairs, makes the perfect place to unwind in after a day of exploring, and has attractive décor and comfortable furnishings. A wood burner is the focal point and on winter nights and makes for a cosy stay, and a large Smart TV in this room with an extensive DVD collection. The stylish kitchen is well equipped and provides a lovely social space, whether it’s casual dining and a glass of wine or more formal dining. French doors lead out onto the patio area, set with table and chairs, BBQ and firepit to enjoy al fresco dining as the sun goes down. Upstairs is the master bedroom with kingsize bed and an en-suite bathroom.
The bustling town of Hawes is 1½ miles or a leisurely walk away and has a variety of interesting shops, cafés and pubs. The famous Wensleydale Creamery is nearby, with visits to Aysgarth Falls, The Forbidden Corner, Bolton Castle among the list of things to do. Lake Semerwater is nearby and offers activities such as coarse and wild brown trout fishing, canoeing, sailing and windsurfing or simply a lovely place to take a picnic and sit and enjoy the views and wildlife. With fabulous walks and cycle routes right from the doorstep taking you through beautiful and ever changing countryside, this makes a perfect base for the outdoor enthusiast, with a comfortable cottage to return to at the end of the day.
