This is a wonderful, fully equipped house. The house was lovely and warm on arrival, with plenty of logs for the fire . The beds were very comfy and warm. The house had everything we needed for a week walking in the hills
Rose Cottage was a beautiful and extremely well kept accommodation. It was perfectly suited for our needs and was really comfortable.
The location was ideal and the scenery was quite simply stunning!
I would definitely stay here again.
Comfortable clean cottage with everything we needed for self-catering and walking. Wonderful walks straight from the door into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Stayed here for three nights. The place felt like home with all the comforts and amenities one would need. It is spacious with generous sized bedrooms, and a relaxing living room. It is located in the beautiful village of Keld, with hikes at your doorstep. I highly recommend a stay, and I know, like myself, you will be back. Thanks Alison. 😊
The cottage is situated in Lovely surroundings. Picturesque, peaceful and beautiful.

Enjoyed our holiday..
Beautiful location . Very well appointed cottage ,fully equipped everything you would need for a very enjoyable holiday. Stunning scenery right from your windows.
This is a superb property in a wonderful village location and the owners couldn't be more helpful. Many thanks for a lovely break would thoroughly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay in this property very much. The cottage is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated.
The garden is beautiful and a lovely place to sit and have a glass of wine after a day's walking in the hills. Parking in front of the cottage is easy. The area is stunning. (It is advisable to take provisions with you as it is a fair drive to the shops.) We would definitely stay there again.
Truly God's country here in Keld with panoramic views in every direction! Alison, our host, was generous with her warm welcome as we enjoyed her homemade Yorkshire Fruit Loaf/Cake. The cottage was spotless and had everything we could have possible needed for our stay. The sheep kept us entertained as we watched them outside our windows in the emerald green fields. Can't wait to return and recommend this magical place to our friends and family. Thanks Alison

Immaculate, cosy and welcoming.
A really delightful cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Rose Cottage is probably the most well maintained and comfortable holiday cottage we have ever stayed in, and there have been many! Thank you Alison for making us feel so welcome.
Wonderful Cottage in a Wonderful Location - Highly Recommended
Lovely cosy cottage that met, no not met, exceeded all our expectations. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and so cosy, we felt "at home" as soon as we arrived. Communications with the owner were brilliant and the fresh flowers and home baked fruit leaf a lovely touch. The location was great with a number of interesting and varied walks on the doorstep. Will certainly be looking to revisit in the future.
Beautiful cottage. Alison kindly decorated the cottage with a Christmas tree and decorations for us. The goodies she left for us were greatly appreciated!
Very comfortable stay. Lovely with the wood burner. Kitchen had everything you needed for cooking. We hope to return when the weather is better. Thank you!
Beautiful cottage; tastefully furnished & decorated; exceptionally clean. Enjoyed the very pretty garden. Had a little trouble figuring out how to use the dryer, but my technically minded grandson was able to figure it out! Unfortunately, I doubt that I will be returning to the UK, but if I did, the Dales & Rose cottage would definitely be a desired destination.

Christmas in the Dales
We could not have had a better Christmas holiday in the Dales. The cottage was warm and cosy and the owners had gone to the trouble of decorating it with a tree and lights. There was plenty of wood for the stove, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and even a full Xmas dinner.
We came with our grown up children so managed to do some great walks around Keld, which has dramatic scenery and a very fast flowing river and waterfalls. There is a great pub in Muker at the end of a long hike, as well as the town of Hawes nearby. The Keld Resource centre is opposit e the cottage, and its history was very interesting. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to come back to it one day.
What a wonderful stay! Rose Cottage has every amenity a traveler could want. It’s nicely furnished and very spacious and welcoming. Lovely to have the washer and dryer and plenty of hot water and a great shower. We cooked several meals in the well appointed kitchen. Alison’s Yorkshire tea loaf was delicious, and we appreciated the fresh flowers as well. It was lovely to sit out in her beautiful garden, and admire the sheep in the field next door…they loved coming up to the window when we were sitting in the lounge as well! The village of Keld is perfectly situated to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Don’t miss the resource center, pretty church, and the old school house exhibit in Keld… Very informative and well done. We would highly recommend Rose cottage to anyone visiting this area, and we hope to return someday! Suzy and Eric — Vermont, USA
Never having been to the Yorkshire Dales, I had no idea what to expect but I did know I wanted to stay in the heart of the Dales. This was a trip of a lifetime for my 83 year old mother who had always wanted to visit the Dales but didn’t want to drive and the wonderful Rose Cottage didn’t disappoint. From the moment you walked in the front door it felt like home; a Yorkshire cake on the kitchen counter and fresh daffodils on the table. Keld is a beautiful village with walking paths for hikers, sheep in the pastures, and away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. I almost felt guilty imposing on the village serenity.
Alison is a wonderful hostess and very responsive, even giving a call to check that we arrived. The cottage has everything you need for a stay.
I hope she will have me again as I look forward to returning to her wonderful cottage in the future.
Beautiful cosy cottage, spotless and superbly equipped. Brilliant and reassuring communication from Alison before Christmas even to ask if we wanted the decorations leaving up - a lovely touch. Looking forward to seeing Alison on Bake-Off in 2020. Best fruit cake ever!
The cottage is perfect, deceptively spacious with lovely comfy beds
We had an issue with the boiler which left us without heating. Ray and Alison responded within 10 minutes and, at one stage, it felt like the whole village came out to help resolve the issue. Lovely people.
Keld is perfectly located for a walking holiday, our kids particularly loved the waterfall walk. Heartily recommend a hike over Kidson hill for lunch at the Farmer’s Arms in Muker.
Many thanks to Alison, Ray, Claire and Andrew for a perfect New Year getaway.
We fell in love with Rose Cottage, Keld and Swaledale.
This is a very attractive cottage and is well-equipped. I would just give a word of warning to older visitors with dodgy knees - like in so many cottages the stairs are steep. As there is a toilet downstairs this is less of a problem than it might be. With careful planning, for example deciding to brush your teeth downstairs, it should be possible to make the ascent to the bedroom floor just once a day.
