Please note: There are two steps from the living/dining room to the garden.. Nestled in a quiet enclave that is just 10 minutes walk from the beach and the bustling town centre, Gone to the Beach has everything you need for a lovely, relaxing coastal break, including parking for one car, something which is often in short supply this close to the town centre. It also has a lovely orangery where you can dine whilst bringing the outside in, a small garden and a separate seating area overlooking the cricket ground.
You may well be tempted to park up and explore on foot as you will soon discover why Cromer has long been a popular holiday destination for couples and families alike. With its wide, sandy beach, Edwardian promenade and famous pier, which still hosts its seasonal end of pier show thought to be the last of its kind in the UK, it is famous for a good reason. Cromer has so much more to offer than this though. Its high street is full of artisan and boutique shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, as well as a museum, cinema, a zoo and a host of traditional seaside attractions. And of course it has a mainline train station, which will take you to the heart of the Norfolk Broads and beyond to the medieval city of Norwich. You can also enjoy great coastal views from the Coast Hopper Bus or even take the historical North Norfolk railway from nearby Sheringham and chug along the coastline too.
Explore by car and discover a string of pretty seaside towns and villages, and a variety of coastal habitats including sand and shingle beaches, marshes, sand dunes and quays, all perfect for that seaside photo opportunity. You can also be in the heart of the Norfolk Broads in just over 30 minutes where you can find yourself drifting along these famous waterways, either as captain of your own day launch or on an organised tour.
Add in the Thursford and Muckleburgh Collections, Sheringham Park and Pesthorpe Nature Reserve, the Felbrigg, Blickling and Holkham estates, RSPB Cley Marshes, BeWILDerwood and lots of great walks and cycle routes, and you are sure to book another holiday in this part of Norfolk just to fit it all in. And, when you do, you are certain to choose Gone to the Beach where you are sure of a great night’s sleep.
