Perfect stay in La Fortuna

Comfortable clean stay with beautiful pool and patio area. We enjoyed having dinner outdoors and the AC was top notch. Secure gate entry for car. Driving distance to town, waterfall, hot springs, Arenal parks. Picturesque surroundings. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A beautiful home, great location and fantastic host

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Heliconias! We arrived late and after dark but check in was a breeze thanks to Oscar's instructions. Communication with Oscar was a breeze using WhatsApp, he was extremely helpful and responsive to any questions we had during our stay. The home was clean and well outfitted for the most part, and the pool and outdoor space were fantastic. I also absolutely loved taking a walk around the farm and seeing the beautiful plants and farm animals. The ONLY downside to this property is the street noise if you are a light sleeper. The big trucks use their J brakes all the way down the road in front of the house which can be quite jarring- it didn't disturb us enough where we wouldn't consider staying here again, but it could be an issue for some. We would definitely stay here again though, and definitely recommend the home and Oscar as a host.

Great property for our family of six

This was a nice property at a good price, and worked well for my family of 6 (including 3 teens and a 10-year-old). For our family size, we usually avoid hotels and resorts and prefer homes, and this met our needs. A few thoughts: - Host were very communicative. I had 3 or 4 questions during the stay and received responses within minutes. - The property is a fenced-in square with tall/thick trees all around for privacy. There are no close neighbors so it feels like you have space and privacy. There is a farm on one side and a cow pasture behind you, which we loved. -The outdoor living space is mostly covered from sun or rain, and the pool was well maintained. We spent a lot of time in the pool. -Wifi was great for 6 people using at same time. -Kitchen is ok for basic stuff like easy breakfasts and sandwiches for lunch, but a bit limited if cooking anything extensive. -There is AC in both bedrooms, but not living room/kitchen/bathroom. So sleeping is comfortable, but living area less so. We opened bedroom doors and that helped a bit. Also, we spent most time by pool. -Only one bathroom. We made it work for 6 people, but just fyi. -We had excursions in La Fortuna every day, so we were not at the house too often. But when we were, this was a great place to unwind with privacy and our private pool. I'd say it's perfect for 4 people, a little tight but still nice for 6, and while it can sleep 8, I don't think I would do that. But given all of the above, I definitely recommend!

4 days in La Fortuna

My girlfriends and I were very impressed by our stay here. It was easy to get to and we felt extremely safe (especially because the property is almost hidden in plain sight as it’s enclosed by palm trees). The house was perfect, we enjoyed our time hanging out by the pool, cooked fun meals, and relaxed to watch Netflix at the end of the day on the couches. The ac in the house was so nice after long hot days, and the showers were nice and hot. I highly recommend staying here! In addition it was close to all the activities we had on our itinerary. The host was also very responsive and able to answer any questions immediately (though there weren’t many).
