About this property
Edgewater - Picturesque Townhouse in the Kingdom of Mourne - 4 star NITB rated
Edgewater is a luxuriously appointed new townhouse, nestled at the foot of the mystical Mourne mountains in the heart of Annalong Village. It has stunning views to the mountains, the sea, and the historic Waterwheel at the Harbour. Located midway between Belfast and Dublin, Annalong is ideally located for exploring the majesty of both the North and the South. Edgewater is a convenient 10mins drive away from both Newcastle, and from Kilkeel; which hosts one of Northern Ireland’s largest working fishing fleets, boasting fresh fish daily landed and available to purchase on the quayside.
Stroll from the house down to the harbour (1 minute) and along the beach paths to enjoy the stunning views in either direction. Afterwards, cross the footbridge by the old Watermill and visit the Harbour Inn’s Olde Worlde atmosphere restaurant to enjoy fresh daily locally caught seafood; or sit outside and watch the boats come in as the sun goes down - dogs are welcome in the public bar.
Relax after a days activities or sightseeing on the private and fully paved/enclosed back patio area (charcoal barbeque available); enjoy the scenic drives (Spelga Dam, Silent Valley, Rostrevor); explore Game of Throne’s country; go hillwalking and hiking in the Mournes; golf in some of Ireland’s most breathtaking courses (Royal County Down - frequented by local favourite, Rory McIlroy); go horseriding or biking in Tollymore Forest, Rostrevor, Donard, Castlewellan); and, visit the glorious beaches at Murlough, Tyrella, and Cranfield Blue Flag beach, and much more.
A new ferry connects Greencastle (15 mins drive) in the North, to Greenore on the dramatic Cooley Peninsula and is well worth a trip with sailings on the hour and half hour during the summer (try combining with a visit to picturesque Carlingford and returning via Rostrevor and the Fairie Glen, to explore the stunning scenery of Carlingford Lough).
A £75 cleaning fee is applicable for stays less than 7 nights.

About the host
Hosted by Maureen

I am a retired school teacher who was born in Kilkeel and my parents come from Annalong and Newcastle. On relocating back to Northern Ireland, after 25 years in the United States I have bought Edgewater with my two sons who still live in the States. We have furnished it to the highest standard in order to make our guests as comfortable as we like to be when we all get together there with family to enjoy the magic of the Mournes.

What makes this property unique
Sea views, mountain views, views to the old Watermill and Cornmill. Walking distance to local bars and restaurant. Fishing harbour with fresh caught local fish. Great public transport links. 2 parking spaces. Enclosed and paved rear garden provides private outdoor living space.
