About this property
Lovely Two Bedroom Flat in the VERY CENTRE of Newcastle
Whether you're in Newcastle for work, going to a game at St James's Park, taking in a concert, tackling the Great North Run, planning a weekend of sightseeing, enjoying a chilled getaway with family or friends or just fancy a three day bender in the Toon's famous party venues then this apartment is about as close to the action as you can get. The flat is less than a five minute walk from Central Station offering easy connections to all parts of the country or to Newcastle Airport.
There are plenty of parking options within easy reach, including a NCP £11 per day facility just round the corner. If you're staying on Friday and Saturday we can even chuck-in a free on-street parking pass.
The property is a spacious, light two bedroom second floor flat in an Art Deco style building in the heart of Newcastle's famous Bigg Market. That is IN THE CITY CENTRE, not 'close to' or 'on the outskirts', so no standing around for hours, jostling and fighting in queues for a £15-20 taxi ride.
There are two double bedrooms (both with secondary glazing as the nightlife can get quite lively), making the flat ideal for up to four people. Kids are welcome and even pets, subject to prior agreement. Some weekends have a two night minimum stay requirement. However, if you're only looking for a single night, just get in touch and ask.
We offer free high speed wi-fi, tv in each room, a decent hair dryer (the wife insists on that!), towels/bedding, fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, a scattering of Amazon Echo devices and a separate drinks fridge.
One bedroom has a king-sized bed and the other a double so no beds crammed into every part of the apartment to make it like a youth hostel dormitory (although if you want to squeeze an extra person in that's OK).
What we DON'T offer are cushions with 'Love' or 'Home' on them, wee sweeties on your pillows, extra cleaning, pet or service fees or ridiculously early check-out times. Another thing we don't offer is views of the Tyne Bridge, but nobody comes to Newcastle just to stand looking at a bridge, do they! However, we do offer great views onto the Bigg Market, which offers a range of cosmopolitan pavement cafes during the day and a famously lively nightlife. If you do want to stare at some iconic bridges the Quayside is just a stone's throw away (you'll have to use your own trebuchet) and all the other city attractions, universities, hospital, theatres, football ground etc are even closer.

About the host
Hosted by Iain
I've lived in Newcastle for over 30 years and my wife has lived here all her life. After selling our house recently we bought this lovely flat and another property so we are able to rent out the flat at times when we're not using it.
Why they chose this property
This flat is about as central as you can get. As well as the location we love the spacious, light-filled living area with windows on two sides allowing endless people-watching opportunities, which can become quite addictive when not enjoying Newcastle's many attractions. Think of Rear Window but without the murder, or the dog being lowered in the basket, or Grace Kelly. The apartment will easily sleep four people and has a large lounge area, so for larger groups staying in separate accommodation this could be an ideal central meeting place for everyone to get together before heading out for the night.
What makes this property unique
You can't get any closer to the nightlife centre of Newcastle. You step out of the front door and you're right in the middle of the city. In the daytime the area offers a variety of relaxed, cosmopolitan eateries, pavement cafes, shopping, relaxed city and quayside walks and a variety of historical sights. The Bigg Market area has a legendary reputation and can be pretty lively at night, which is not everyone's cup of tea, so the bedrooms have extra glazing to help create a more tranquil experience.
