This is a lovely house close to all central London attractions. We did have a bit of a plumbing problem, but the management was very responsive and helpful.

When you feel at home with clear instructions, when the linen is fresh and perfect, when the kitchen offers everything, and when you are surrounded by art books, poetry and real paintings, when you can hire bicycles close to the house, then you just let yourself ENJOY London...

This property was nicely situated near tube and bus stops. The three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms worked nicely for us. The stairs are a bit narrow without a banister.
The first few days we were there, the temperature was chilly. Neither the heat nor towel warmers worked. Even though the property manager came to show us and we followed the instructions, they never worked. When the heavy front wood door was difficult to both open and close, the management company, Veeve, was quick to fix that problem.

Hi Francine, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are delighted you liked the property and the location! We are sorry there were some issues with the heating during your stay and will be doing a full investigation so the issue is resolved for future bookings. We are glad we managed to fix the issue with the door in a timely manner. Best wishes, The Veeve team
Overall, our stay was good. This is someone's ACTUAL house, by the way - not the typical spot you see for rent so their clothes and such are there but that wasn't an issue. You just need to keep it in mind.
The place was spotless, there was enough seating for all of us, the beds were comfortable, the location is in a quiet cul-de-sac in a nice neighborhood just a few blocks from one end of Hyde Park and a few minutes walk to a great pub (Hereford Arms), restaurants, and grocery stores.
It is quite a distance from a lot of the tourist spots - 2-3 miles from the palace, the eye, Piccadilly, etc. so generally you have to either cab or underground it to most places.
Our negatives with staying here were that there was no dish soap - so we had to go buy some and you'd think that would be one amenity included. The downstairs shower is only usable by very skinny people because of how the door opens so if you are even a little bit larger you can't use that shower. And our biggest issue was, not to be indelicate, but the constant smell of sewer? Garbage? Something that was coming up through the pipes I guess but every time you walked into the house you were just hit in the face with a really unpleasant pungent odor. I don't know if it's just sewer pipes that are really old or something else, but it was very off-putting.

Great location! Authentic experience in South Kensington
Such a great location. On a quiet street at the edge of South Kensington. It felt safe, close to everything, but tucked away enough to be quiet and relaxing at the end of the day. This is clearly someone’s home and not just some apartment being rented out even though it’s managed by a professional property manager. Gloucester tube station with a Waitrose grocery store and a pharmacy is just a 5 min walk away. Restaurants and bars are very close. This is it’s own separate house, so no one is above you, though it is connected to the houses next to it. It’s been redone and is very comfortable. Excellent water pressure in the bathrooms. There is no air conditioning, so it’s warm at night in the summer. You need to leave the windows open at night, so it’s good it’s a quiet street. Though it’s been remodeled, there must be a water leak in the house somewhere. There is a water stain the ceiling of the master bedroom, mildew in the bathrooms, and there is a musty smell in the house. Something happened out front and there is damage to the plaster on the front of the house. The building is old so keep that in mind, but it has a lot of charm. Cobblestone street out in front of house. No view, just the alley and the building next door. Neighbor occasionally smokes so the smell comes in when windows are open. We were met by a very nice woman, but the managers require lots of extra paperwork. We had a great stay, but just note that not everything is as perfect as the pictures.
