About this property
El Tejar Montecorto by Ruralidays
Holiday house for 8 people in Montecorto, in the province of Málaga, Andalusia.
It is the tallest house in the small town of Montecorto, just 15 minutes from Ronda, with stunning panoramic views of the Sierra de Grazalema mountains. This exceptionally romantic house (featured in several interior design magazines) is decorated in Andalusian/Moroccan style.
Whitewashed beams and terracotta floors were combined with elegant warm colors. There are hundreds of books, CD players in every room, a collection of beautiful paintings and prints, as well as wifi internet connection (with desktop iMac). The 4 large bedrooms have the same bright/ethnic feel - the bedding is top quality, the mattresses too, and they are all en-suite.
A lovely housekeeper, Francisca, cleans and tidies up every day if you wish.
Sculpted into the hillside is a circular pool surrounded by terraces shaded by olive, almond and citrus trees.
It is an exceptional holiday home, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Why is this place so exceptional?:
What's special about it is that, although you are on the edge of the village, when you sit on the terraces or by the pool there is no other house visible.
You have the best of both worlds: easy access to the village shops and bars and a completely secluded location. Daily help included in 7-night stays: One hour of daily cleaning help from a charming and discreet Spanish maid is included in the weekly rental price.
We believe we have the most comprehensive information for guests of any rental property in the area, including information on the best local bars and restaurants, where to visit and detailed route notes of the area's most beautiful walks, including the guidebooks themselves travel of the founder of the town (see Amazon.com: Guy Hunter-Watts 'Walking in Andalucia' and 'The Andalus Andalus Coast to Coast Walk', Santana Books). Renowned travel writer Alastair Sawday recently included it in his ten favorite places to stay in southern Spain and we have published articles about the house in several UK newspapers.
We are also recommended as a rental property by i-escape, the award-winning travel website. A little more about the town and the area: Montecorto is a quiet and welcoming town.
There are several bars and restaurants, including one in the pine forest, where you can eat outside. There will always be someone willing to talk to you! There are two bakeries, three small grocery stores, two of which provide baskets so you can pick things off the shelf, useful for non-Spanish speakers, as well as a cashier and a pharmacy. Many of the fruits and vegetables for sale in the town come from the fertile terraces below the town. If you prefer to shop in supermarkets, there are several options in Ronda, just 15 minutes from the house.
We provide arriving guests with a brochure listing our favorite bars and restaurants, interesting tours in the area, maps of the town, Ronda and surrounding areas, a history of the house and general information about the house. We have found that this little booklet really helps you make the most of this beautiful area where we have lived for over two decades.
