About this property

Quiet Log House on Horse Creek Farm

5 Bedroom Log House with a cathedral ceiling located on a pretty piece of farm property close to Newell S.D. It is a quiet location with wildlife sightings routinely. It is 22 miles from Belle Fourche or Sturgis S.D. and several hunting or fishing opportunities close by at Newell Lake or Orman Dam. Newell Golf Course, a grocery store and gas stations are within 2 miles of the property. It has spectacular views of the Black Hills, especially Bear Butte. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets are daily occurrences.
WiFi and outside security cameras have been recently added to enhance guest’s experience.
The house has a covered front porch and back porch. The main floor has an open living room and dinning room and has a fulling functioning kitchen with a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, microwave, cooking items and dishes. A functional laundry room with a washer and dryer and main bathroom are centrally located. Three large bedrooms are also on the main floor. One bedroom is set up for children or children at heart. The second floor has the master bedroom, small bedroom, bathroom and small sitting area over looking the main floor. Ceiling fans are in four bedrooms.
In order to reach the house, one must travel 1.5 miles of gravel road. Highway 212 and Highway 79 connect to the gravel road.

The farm has been in the family for forty years, but due to family health issues the property was rented out until recently. We have renovated much of the house, but continually work to add improvements.

Why they chose this property

This has our family farm since 1978. The log house was a dream house for our mother. Unfortunately, shortly after it was built we relocated due to one of the children having health issues. After our mother and grandmother passed away the farm was passed down to us siblings. We have been remodeling the house and enjoying family gatherings for close to a decade now. We enjoy visiting each other and our roots.
