Hobthrush is an elevated stone-built property situated in Wath near Pateley Bridge with views across the fantastic countryside to Gouthwaite reservoir, upper Nidderdale and Great Whernside. This property has been stylishly renovated and decorated by the owners, whose grandparents built it. Hobthrush is a stylish holiday retreat ideally located to explore all that Nidderdale and Yorkshire Dales National Park have to offer. The heart of the property is the delightful open plan living area that has sweeping views across the valley. It includes a well-equipped kitchen along with a comfortable sitting area and dining table ideal for socialising. The sofa can be converted to a double bed. The living area has a warm cosy feeling and is a great place to relax in front of the wood burner on those colder evenings. The snug master bedroom, on the same floor, has a raised kingsize bed allowing lovely views over the adjacent grazing and woodlands. Also on this floor is the family bathroom with a shower over bath and a heated towel rail. The second bedroom has a bunk bed, en-suite toilet and a washbasin. Entry is down an external flight of steps and via the garage. While comfortable and cosy for teenagers and most adults, it may not be suitable for children or elderly people because of these access arrangements.

The main feature that sets this property apart is the stunning fully decked roof terrace which offers spectacular views over the valley and moors and is an ideal place to sit and take it easy. And if the weather doesn’t encourage you to sit out, the same views can be enjoyed from the living room. Locations don’t get any more perfect than Hobthrush, the only issue you will have is that you will wish you booked a few extra days.
There is so much to see and do in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are great walks from the house, including along the Nidderdale Way to the renowned Gouthwaite reservoir nature reserve and Upper Nidderdale. The friendly village pub in Wath offers excellent dining. For cyclists, the Pateley Bridge to Masham route and challenging Cote de Lofthouse climb featured as part of the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire and the 2019 World Cycling Championships are also nearby.

Towns close by include Pateley Bridge which is a 30-minute stroll away giving you quick access to shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs. The market town of Masham is 10 miles away and Grassington, starting point for exploring Wharfdale, is 13 miles away. A little further afield, the cathedral city of Ripon is 40 minutes or the stylish spa town of Harrogate a 45-minute drive. Nearby National Trust attractions include the magnificent Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal near Ripon and Brimham Rocks in Summerbridge.

Perfect break
Fabulous stay, the property has a beautiful view from the raised decking. There is everything provided for a stress free break. We stayed as a couple and only used the accommodation upstairs,I would not have used the downstairs bedroom accessed through the garage. Friendly cows in the adjacent field. A great base to enjoy North Yorkshire.

A must stay!
This is truly an amazing place to stay. Everything from the drive into the wonderous countryside, to the the quiet tranquility of the evenings in Pately bridge speaks "peaceful". There are dozens of attractions nearby. The people in town are as friendly as it gets and it's a very charming little town a 3 minute drive away. The v iew from the patio at the property is captivating. And we spent hours checking out star constellations before curling up in front of the fire. The property was so well equipped you litteraly need bring nothing but your food. We were also greeted by a bottle of wine in the fridge which was a nice touch. They have many books about area, including hiking and walking trails, birdwatching books, and some history about Yorkshire. There were so many personal touches I could go on forever. We would also give the property 5 stars for cleanliness as it was impeccable. We are looking forward to staying again.
