The New Bakehouse

The property was excellent. Everything we needed was there. It was a luxury property, and the property owner came and introduced himself and was very welcoming.

Fabulous property

One of the best holiday homes we've stayed in. Very spacious and clean. Everything you might need was there. Location is high up a hill with some good views. Access road to the house is a bit tricky, but fortunately don't have to go too far down it. Bi-fold doors are nice, but we would have appreciated more windows for ventilation. Sally and Kevin very attentive and pleasant. We had some meals at the local pub (Carpenters) which were very nice, with lovely staff.

Excellent location for visiting the beautiful Cotswolds

The house is perfect. Modern, spotlessly clean, spacious rooms, nice garden with a view. The only negatives are the lack of sun loungers and a big parasol (the weather was exceptionally sunny during our stay). Customer Service doesn't get an excellent score, because we were provided with out-dated documentation (wrong code for the keybox, cleaning instructions dating from the covid times), but this is a (minor) criticism for the StayCotswold organisation. Sally, the house owner, was immediately available to provide us with the correct information.

Beautiful in the bakehouse

We stayed for a week at the new bakehouse and we had an amazing week!!. The property is spacious, light and has amazing views. The bakehouse has every mod con you could want and was very clean. On arrival there was a welcome pack of food which was a lovely touch. We would definitely stay here again!!!.

Delightful stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, excellent position for dog walking. House very comfortable, though got very warm as so much glass and in downstairs bedroom it meant we had to leave the door open at night. Owner Sally was very prompt in replying to any questions and providing things that we needed. No complaints, though if I was being picky more local products in the welcome pack would have been a nice touch. However we weren't really expecting the pack and it was nice to have it there when we arrived, particularly the voucher for a free bottle of wine

A great place to stay for a family weekend and the dogs can come too

The New Bakehouse is a beautiful modern property, a credit to the owners. They have thought of everything. A lovely welcome pack was provided on arrival inc. dog bed and bowls if required. The open plan layout makes it a great sociable space for both the family and dogs to enjoy together. The three bedrooms were spacious two being en-suite and a family bathroom. Having a garden was an added bonus having dogs and in summer probably a great space for a barbecue, which is also provided. It was close to places to visit inc. Cirencester which is a lovely town. Overall a great place to stay with family and friends.

Weekend in the Cotswolds

Everything was perfectly arranged and ideal for 6 adults and a dog. We appreciated the welcome basket and additional provisions, such as coffee, tea, sugars etc. This saved us the expense, particularly helpful for a short stay. Provisions for the dog was also a very nice touch. Good people and a very comfortable stay.

Superb Property for all Occasions

We were a party of six who recently stayed at The New Bakehouse for a wedding. The property was exactly per the photos, is a stunning new design, roomy and with everything you need including a Roberts radio and Bose speaker. The kitchen and utility rooms were well equipped and had everything you could need. Kevin was a great host, there to help but very distant given he lives below the property. As with other reviews the property is not straightforward to find and access slightly tight but once you get used to it is fine. We had someone in a wheelchair and access via the side gate was no problem. Loads of great walks, Stroud is close and the village pub excellent. Only comment would be to consider a larger TV and barbecue when they are due to be replaced

Excellent, home from home with no fuss

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Had a lovely welcome basket with some essentials in the cupboard, lovely views and very comfortable beds. What was missing was a large outdoor light and a sign at the main road entrance.

A great location for exploring beautiful Cotswolds.

A lovely week away for my mum's 70th birthday. The New Bakehouse was stunning with every little home comfort you can imagine to hand. Beautiful views, spacious living accommodation with excellent hosts Sally and Kevin nearby to help with any questions. Wonderful walks on the door step and a great location for exploring beautiful Cotswolds. We really didn't want to leave and hope to return again soon to this little gem.

Great quality accommodation

Fantastic place with all mod cons, ground floor bedroom for our elderly relative, good garden for the dogs, with a beautiful outlook at the rear. Be aware that vehicular access to the property is down a short but rather narrow driveway.

Superb holiday home

What a treat to stay at The New Bakehouse! Absolutely stunning property, with every comfort catered for and a delicious welcome pack, thank you. We had a wonderful stay. Two lovely pubs within walking distance and some great walks from the front door. We were a party of two couples and three dogs. Plenty of space for all. We all would highly recommend this property and hope to return soon.

Family holiday

We booked the new bakehouse for our son’s first family holiday, they were very accommodating and supplied a travel cot, high chair and also a changing mat, they do also have a stair gate which we didn’t request due to not needing it. The location of the house and the house itself is lovely and can not fault that at all! Also the communication with Sally throughout our stay and beforehand was excellent and the welcome basket with fresh bread and croissants was a lovely touch! However, we did find that the house could have done with a little bit more cleaning, we appreciate that the house is dog friendly and we had dogs with us as well but on the first day of arrival, my son was on the carpet in the lounge and was covered in black dog fur so we had to hoover. To add to the cleaning, there was also quite a few cobwebs in the corners of the bedrooms which shocked us a little, seeing as the cleaner was due in before we checked in. We also found that the garden wasn’t very dog friendly due to it not being secure, we were able to block the access from the front of the house down the sideway with some furniture otherwise the dogs would have been able to get out and onto the road, maybe a little gate there would be better? Other than that, we did have a lovely week away with many walks near the woods that are just off of Ash lane!

New bake house may 2024

This place is fabulous, spotless, everything we needed, plus lots of extras with welcome basket. Very comfortable, fabulous views and very quiet. There are two footpaths from the property so did lots of walking with the dogs straight from the property. Would highly recommend

69th birthday weekend

Lovely house, very clean & comfortable and we loved all the mod cons like the lighting, electric blinds & underfloor heating. Walked into Stroud for the farmers market which was definitely worth a visit plus a walk in the woods above Ranwick & Sunday lunch at the Vine Tree.

Fantastic Property

Lovely spacious property which was immaculately clean. Beds super comfy. Good location to explore the wider Cotswolds. A couple of great pubs within walking distance. Lovely welcome basket of baked treats on arrival. Suggestion would be for a larger fridge or additional wine/beer fridge!

Beautiful house with great views

We stayed for 3 nights and this has to be one of the nicest properties we’ve stayed in. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and we loved the huge island in the kitchen. Views over the hills were lovely and there was a pub within easy walk. There was a lovely welcome basket and very easy communication from the owners. Would definitely recommend!
