Beautiful Duplex. Unfortunately setting too residential.
The Villa / Duplex is beautifully laid out over 3 floors with an Indonesian feel and very clean. Lounge areas are lovely with comfy sofas and large TV on middle floor where we were able to access our Netflix account which was great as there were 2 nights of rain. My 2 daughters and their partners stayed on ground floor & struggled with that TV so we all stuck with the one on middle floor. Kitchen area was beautifully equipped with all you need and a large American style fridge freezer. Be aware though that you cannot leave ANY food out as ants will appear there in a flash. All bins have to be taken to bin area up the hill on a daily basis. All bedrooms are en-suite and very cool. I personally would have liked a headboard for that added sense of luxury plus all rooms could do with more bedding / pillows. (We only had duvet covers)
We didn’t hire a car….mistake! as walking up the hill to the Pueblo was very steep and took the older members a good 20 minutes but worth the walk as the Pueblo is amazing. We ended up getting taxis everywhere in the end..
The pool area is stunning with fantastically equipped gym nearby. Be aware however that there is no deep end so to speak.! I’m 1.75 (5ft7) and it was just below my shoulder level at deepest level. When we stayed (August2022) there was ongoing building works which we were not aware of. The men of the group loved watching all the builders at work but for me and the girls the noise was not conducive to a relaxing day by the pool. They didn’t work Sundays so that was our day to visit the pool.
The downsides for me on a personal level though are as follows. I didn’t realise how residential the villa was! You are surrounded by a large development of other duplexes. This meant the outside patio / bbq areas are very exposed and you could literally see & hear other families / holidaymakers. . House Rules state no loud noise after 10pm so be aware it also states guests can be removed from villa if they break house rules. We were a party of 8 and when the conversation got animated and there was lots of laughter, as you’d hope when being on holiday, we were constantly having to shush each other. Consequently we didn’t enjoy having a glass of wine , playing cards and sitting on the terrace for fear of upsetting the neighbours! This to me is ridiculous given that we were all on holiday.
Could not fault the aesthetics of the villa but very disappointed with the residential setting!
