Kings River Lake History and Details
Ideal for family recreation, the Kings River runs for 90 miles from where its headwaters originate east of Boston in Newton County, Arkansas. It flows generally Northward merging with Osage Creek before it flows into Table Rock Lake at the Arkansas Missouri border. With an average gradient of 16 feet per mile, it cuts through the rock strata of the high Ozark Plateau. Its waters create a beautiful clear mountain stream with canyons, scenic bluffs and waterfalls. The upper reaches of the river provide excellent whitewater while the lower reaches have sufficient water for year round floating. It has achieved fame as a smallmouth bass stream and as a habitat for wintering bald eagles. The wooded slopes and valleys furnish exceptional range for large and small game and support many species of unique plants and animals. Pink azaleas, wild roses and dogwood blooms appear in spring. It remains as the only major free flowing stream running into the White River in this area.

Float/Canoe Options

1.Our Kings River Marshall Ford to Marshall Ford Public take out
Do you only have a few hours to float and have your own gear? You can put in behind the property at your own personal put-in and have a nice 2-3 hour float to the Marshall ford public put-in/takeout. This is a great float, but there is one point that you will have to take your canoe out of the water and haul it up over a private concrete bridge to get to the other side. All you have to do is follow the yellow canoe signs behind the house!

2. Marshall Ford to our Kings River Marshall Ford home
This is a beautiful 4-5 hour float for those of you that have your own gear. You will put in at the public put-in at Marble and then take out at Bella Casa Kings River Huntsville. Just think how nice it will be to take out at Bella Casa Huntsville and relax for the rest of the afternoon.

3. Kings River (Marble To Marshall Ford)
The Kings River offers rewards that go far beyond the fine smallmouths you’re likely to tangle with. This is a dream stream beyond compare, beautiful and pristine. It transports the float-fisherman back in time to a simpler, less complicated era. Long, deep pools make the segment from Marble to Marshall Ford (10.7 miles) a good fisherman’s float. Overhanging trees and logs sometimes hamper travel, but there are no dangerous hazards, and the scenery is excellent. The put-in is northwest of Marble at a county road crossing. Take out at the low-water bridge at Marshall Ford, an access point northeast of Alabam. You will have to take your canoe out of the water and haul it up over a private concrete bridge to get to the other side.

Fishing Tips for the Kings River
If you want to catch the real Kings River lunkers, take along heavy tackle. Some people expect bass from this smallish river to be smallish, too, and that can cost you some trophy fish. A baitcasting reel, medium-action rod and 10- to 20-pound-test line are appropriate. Big smallmouths hit large crankbaits and large tandem spinners with trailing pork rind. Topwater minnow lures 6 or 7 inches long are deadly, and the jig-and-pig is a good producer. Concentrate your casts in still pockets, side sloughs and pools and skip the fast water. The Kings is designated an Ozark Zone Quality Smallmouth Stream. The smallmouth bass daily limit is two on the stretch of water described, and each fish must be at least 14 inches long to keep.

Home away..
This home is far enough out in the country we saw deer every evening and yet we were close enough to some major attractions we didn't have to leave an hour early. Very nice place to vacation.

Family getaway
This was a great location for a family weekend away. The house was just as we expected, which was great. The property, however, was a hidden gem. Our kids loved exploring the creek, fishing, and skipping rocks.

Wonderful!
This is the BEST property we have been to so far. The house was very clean and maintained. Plenty of room for everyone. You just cant beat the location. You can walk down to the river where you can float, kayak, fish, and swim to your hearts content. Everyone from 13-70 was entertained. Thank you for sharing your property with us! Hope to come back one day!
