Surrounded by astonishing natural beauty on the beach between the mountains and the sea Casa Bahia de Los Frailes, "Casa Bahia", is a luxury vacation venue without the crowds. Combining breathtaking views with high-end amenities, this beachfront villa offers a 340 degree panoramic vista of Frailes Bay and the Sea of Cortez, with wide sandy beaches and desert mountains everywhere you look. Casa Bahia is accessible by car from San Jose International Airport, by air (private 2300' dirt strip) or sea (natural anchorage) and just a short drive to Cabo Pulmo, a pristine natural marine sanctuary, now protected as a National Park, offering incredible snorkeling and diving opportunities among one of North America's few living coral reefs. Casa Bahia itself offers great year long swimming and diving in front of the house and surfing a short drive away. If you're a nature lover seeking to experience the legendary biodiversity of the Sea of Cortez without sacrificing creature comforts, this villa is for you.

Outside, Casa Bahia offers a front-row seat to paradise. Relax around your 45’ infinity-edge swimming pool as you admire the brilliant aquamarine hues of the sea where you will seasonally find nesting and hatching sea turtles, breaching whales and jumping Mobila Rays. Settle into a lounge chair with a good book. Most of the indoor furniture and all of the outdoor furniture was handmade to our specifications, is generously sized and comfortable. Heat up the Wolf gas barbecue or the wood-fired Santa Maria grill, part of the outdoor kitchen, to prepare the catch of the day. Sip a cool drink at the sunken palapa-shaded outdoor bar equipped with ice maker and fridge. The large pool deck also includes an outdoor shower and heated jacuzzi. There are plenty of ways to relax and enjoy the wonderful Baja weather. Head down to the beach directly in front of the villa to play in the clear turquoise water. The water in summer reaches 85 degrees and in winter is rarely below 70 and the beach is the most wonderful swimming beach in all of Baja. In the evening, the fire pit is a perfect spot to gather under a canopy of stars.

Inside, the villa offers filtered water, safe to drink, to all the taps in every room. We invite you to enjoy a spacious and inviting getaway with friends or family as well as the privacy of your own room and balcony. Each of the six attractive master bedrooms offers travertine floors and counter tops, pocket doors, private decks, an en-suite bathroom and ocean views, even from the shower. Bedrooms 3 and 6 comfortably house two extra couples or up to 8 kids or grandkids. Family gatherings often orbit the gourmet-quality kitchen, with island seating and open to the dining and living rooms. The twin island kitchen boasts professional appliances and the large adjacent indoor and outdoor dining areas each of which comfortably seats up to 10. Casa Bahia's attentive staff of three is available to pre-stock the fridge, pantry and bar with your choice of food and beverages (cost plus 25%) and can provide delicious home-cooked meals (nominal additional charge). When you're ready to explore, some of the region's finest snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, surfing and fishing are within easy reach.

Our family had the most incredible time at this house. All the rooms are absolutely fabulous. The icing on top? Alberto and Rossy. We looked forward to margaritas and guacamole every night and Rossy’s cooking was delicious. Highly recommend.

Diving in Cabo Pulmo

We planned this trip to go diving in Cabo Pulmo marine reserve and it was amazing. We had the most spectacular time at Casa Bahia. Alberto and Rosie were incredible care takers of the house, so sweet and helpful. Rosie's cooking was over the top. The house is impeccable and Dennis the host is so easy to work with. We will be back without question.

From the moment that we stepped into the villa, we were just blown away with everything from the incredible location, the world class beach, the breaching whales, the jumping manta rays, to the beautiful, stunning house. But even more incredible than all of that were Alberto, Rosy and their staff who pampered us for our weeklong stay and made every single meal. They did it with aplomb and grace. Great family stay

Our family (7 adults, 2 toddlers) gathered at Dennis and Leah's beautiful home for our first vacation together in years. We spent nearly all our time by the pool and enjoyed every minute of it. We all loved the stunning views, peaceful surroundings, and friendly and helpful staff - we paid Rosy to cook most of our dinners, and they were all delicious. Beds were very comfortable and there was more than enough room for everyone - it's great for a large group. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to get away from it all with your own family or group of friends!

Paradise found

We had the most incredible stay as a large family group. We were looking for somewhere quiet but luxurious to spend time together and enjoy a peaceful and beautiful setting and I can’t imagine a better place. The area is remote but stunning and full of character and natural wonder. The house is gorgeous, clean, spacious, and really thoughtfully decorated.Rossy, Alberto and Sondra took great care of us. We looked forward to “Guacamole hour” every night and highly recommend Rossy’s cooking. We spent our days enjoying the house, walking the beach, hiking the hills, watching whales, and exploring the great lunch spots in Cabo Pulmo. We can’t wait to visit again.

Amazing Casa Frailes!

Casa Frailes exceeds expectations in every way. The setting is majestical, with the Gulf of California on one side and a beautiful desert mountain setting on the other. The house is expertly constructed with attention to detail throughout. The furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. The property management team, Alberto and Rosie, go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Diving and fishing in this area is some of the best in world and you can arrange to be picked up for both on the beach right in front of the house. There are whales and rays and turtles and much more to see. Dennis was a pleasure to deal with during the whole process. Casa Frailes is a very special place.

Paradise Found!

I’m not sure words can even describe how incredible Dennis’s house and location are, pictures don’t even do it justice. The gorgeous, yet understated house is a dream with views from every room out to the turquoise water blending between the infinity pool and ocean. I went on a girls trip with 8 girls and there was more than enough room for us to all be extremely comfortable. Each room could be a master bedroom with king beds and private bathrooms. The house is secluded, which makes it feel like your own private paradise, but just 10-15mns away are a number of adorable restaurants with delicious food. I’ve only been gone a week and have been fantasizing daily about going back! Thank you Dennis & Leah for sharing your perfect patch of the world with us!

A Christmas Paradise at Los Frailes

We just returned from a magical Christmas week at Los Frailes. Dennis and Leah have created a perfect paradise on the East Cape of Los Cabos. Thank you for sharing your home. It was literally one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Gourmet indoor and outdoor kitchen and an outdoor deck pool area that we literally never left. We saw beautiful fish in the water and stars in the ski. The house is gorgeous and the caretakers Ubaldo and Aurora are so nice and helpful. We recommend ordering groceries in advance. All we had to do was relax and enjoy the beauty. We even saw a whale! Dennis even connected us with a wonderful local diving and tours guide named Arturo who helped arrange fishing, diving and hiking. Don't miss your chance to experience this lovely home and wonderful hosts.

Paradise!!!

The house and location were pure bliss and hosts couldn't have been warmer or more responsive! All around the best vacation we've had in years. The house is stunning, immaculate and stocked with EVERYTHING - from beach gear like paddle boards, kayaks, snorkels, life jackets... to food and toiletries. Los Frailes is in Cabo Pulmo national marine park with great snorkeling and diving. Sea of Cortez was 80 degrees and gentle enough for our 6 year old to swim safely. We saw the Milky Way from the pool at night! Recommend renting a 4WD and asking Alberto (property manager) to meet you at the airport. They'll stock the fridge, cook delicious meals and help with any special requests eg they rented a body board for my son. Dennis the owner was so helpful and responsive with local tips. Our stay was magical - can't recommend this place enough!! Already counting the days until we return.

Beautiful Getaway for our Wedding Party

We all had an amazing time. The house manager Alberto, and his wife Rosa were so nice and accommodating. The food as promised was great and the house was beautiful and immaculate. The beach wedding vow ceremony came together beautifully with everyone pitching in. Alberto and Salomon from the house next door worked together to get chairs and wood for the arch and helped us make a fire pit on the beach for the post ceremony hangout. The divers in our group enjoyed really nice dives every morning at the nearby Cabo Pulmo Marine reserve. We saw big schools of fish, bull sharks, and even got to snorkel with a pretty darn large Whale shark off the dive boat. Starting this Sunday no more Covid test requirement to for entry back to the US! We are already thinking of returning but next time flying in and utilizing the runway by the house. 😄. And thanks to Dennis the owner for his help with all the arrangements to make our stay memorable.

This place is better than a 5-star resort!

We were lucky enough to find this gem; it exceeded our expectations in every way! The house is gorgeous and the layout is perfect for allowing everyone to have their own space in the four private suites while the large kitchen/dining/living was the perfect spot to gather. The views are literally breathtaking and there isn’t a room without a view. The outdoor space is equally as nice! The infinity pool with swim up bar was a fun treat and the outdoor kitchen was killer! We traveled with my 80 year old in-laws, sister, and our two children (7 and 9). The first evening, our boys were lucky enough to meet some locals on the beach that allowed them to release baby turtles into the ocean- an experience they will not forget! Our days were filled with snorkeling, body surfing, fishing, and just relaxing. This is the perfect place if you are looking to relax off the beaten path! Ubaldo and Aurora (on-site property managers) were lovely. Thank you Leah and Dennis for sharing your incredible property with our family. It was a trip we won’t forget! Hope to visit again!!

Paradise Getaway

We were looking for a getaway for our entire family for the holidays -- 4 daughters in their 20's, son in law and 18 month granddaughter -- and we found it here! This amazing house is away from the crowds in Cabo San Lucas and a slice of paradise. The house is absolutely gorgeous and there is no detail over looked. From the moment we entered -- with Alberto bringing our bags inside -- we felt a sense of relaxation. the house was already stocked with food, and dinner was being prepared as we walked in. Dennis was great to work with during our booking and answered any question promptly. Rossy and Alberto made dinner every night (which was a treat that I highly recommend adding to your stay) and at 5 they had margaritas and guacamole ready. The nearby scuba diving and fishing boat rental was another highlight of the trip. Otherwise we spent long days by the pool or in the ocean relaxing and spending wonderful family time together. The house was well stocked with kayaks, SUP, and inflatable pool toys. We can't wait to return to this fabulous house!

a week away from Los Angeles near Cabo San Lucas

We needed a break from the City and wow! This is it... about 30 miles from Cabo San Lucas on a pristine beach overlooking Los Frailes Bay and 5 minutes from Cabo Pulmo diving, snorkeling and fishing. The house is an architectural masterpiece. Beds treally cozy with great views. Imagine! you are on "solar" yet have all the luxury needs you could want: air conditioning, light, Wolf Stove and even a Chef that made two fantastic meals. I vegged out on the patio watching the Bay with hundreds, no thousands, of rays leaping in the air and splatting down with an echo. That was only interrupted by rooster-fish crashing in no more than 10 feet from shore. The only caveat we note.... Stock up on food and for the week. It is an hour drive to a major market near the airport. The house had all the basics you need like olive oil, spices, lots of ice, paper towels etc.

If you look up the the perfect vacation in the dictionary ...

It is hard to find the words to do our vacation justice. It lakes a little longer to get to Los Frailes, but the cow traffic jam on the dusty road around Cabo Pulmo is just part of the adventure. The house is perfectly designed and beautifully constructed. The staff, Alberto, Rosy, and Maria, took care of our every need. The owner Dennis helped coordinate our stay and gave great advice. Having the meals in the house was complete luxury and added to the relaxation. The food was terrific - restaurant quality. No pictures adequately show the beauty of both the desert and sea views. The pool is even better than the beautiful pictures. Our family group was perfectly relaxed. The teenagers were always busy. The grandparents soaked in the scenery. Where else in the World could you find this beach, with this beautiful water, with these views and with so few other people? Our fishing day was very good and the snorkeling trip even better. The staff even helped us to book Yoga in house and a singer and guitarists for our own private concert at the fire pit. Epic. We hope to return, but these memories will certainly last a lifetime.

Being neurodivergent, having severe dyslexia, severe Audio processing disorder, severe ADHD, and Aspergers, they were super flexible, patient, and helpful when I messed up communication on my end. It can be intimidating with my disability to try to arrange events like this in a different country knowing I can mess up communication. They were always super patient with me. We had a group of 40+yo moms celebrating our BFFs 40th Birthday. Alberto, Rossy, and Maria, were excellent at helping make this a true vacation for a bunch of working moms. It was the best vacation all of us have had in a very long time. We couldn’t be more grateful for Dennis and Leah opening up their home to us. It’s exactly what is stated in the photos and description and worth it! It’s SO beautiful! We had a school of migrating sting rays jumping around playing in front of the house for a couple of days like it was our own private show! Sun sets and sun rises were spectacular. It’s a dream location. It’s a bit of a drive, get an suv as one of our friends rented a car and it gets slow in the last 15miles of dirt road without an suv. Rossy’s cooking is amazing! Alberto’s margaritas is what dreams are made of. Beds and everything were super comfortable. Highly recommend! Thank you Dennis and Leah again! Best vacation ever!

The perfect getaway beach experience

Our stay at Casa Bahia de Los Frailes was exceptional and truly one of the best family vacations my family and I have been on. The house is incredible, and the pictures, as fabulous as they are, don't do the property justice. You can tell that Mr. and Mrs. Seider poured their heart into this magnificent home. Walking in through the front doors, and seeing the ocean open up in front of you, will literally take your breath away. My family and I were speechless. Alberto and Rosy are incredible, kind, and always going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We only had them prepare meals for us for two nights, but both nights were incredible and my only regret is that we didn't have them prepare all our dinners. The kitchen is fully stocked with the appropriate cooking utensils should you want to cook yourself (the knives were even sharp, which is something I always find aggravating when staying at an host's home). One of my favorite items was the photobook detailing Dennis and Leah's process of constructing the house. Seeing the amount of time, blood, sweat and tears (not mentioned, but I'm sure there were a few) it took to bring this dream to life was amazing. I hope to be able to revisit this magical place again, and I am thankful to Dennis and Leah for opening the house up to us! A couple of planning points: it is 2 hours from Cabo San Lucas on very bumpy dirt roads. You won't be hitting up Cabo Wabo and driving home later. Price you pay for a beach to yourself!

Leah is a practicing pediatric neuropsychologist and Dennis is a retired maritime lawyer; we anchored in this Bay for our first time sixty years ago; it was magical then and it's magic still. Leah and I have always loved the sea and enjoy sharing that love with others; the sea in front of the house is the most prolific we have ever seen and the best swimming beach anywhere.

Why they chose this property

I was anchoring my boat in the lee of the point at Frailes sixty years ago, before there were any roads, when the local fishermen were still salting their catch and drying it in the sun on the beach; even then it was a magical place and more so now from the pool deck; to watch the sun go down from a boat at anchor in the bay was always wonderful and to watch it now from the comfort of "Casa Bahia" is even better

What makes this property unique

the house is luxurious but the setting primitive, unspoiled, natural and quiet, the wildlife prolific and the peace almost palpable; the cognitive dissonance between the remote location and the luxurious level of comfort the house affords heightens an appreciation of both; when if ever you tire of nature's unique music we have Sonos sound systems in the house and on deck, Sky Satellite TV, phone and WiFi service.
