About Lisa Drew-Authement
My name is Clay Gillespie. My wife Irene and I have been very happily married for 22 years. We have 16-year-old triplets (two girls and a boy) as well as a 15-year-old boy. It has definitely been a whirlwind raising 4 children who are all within a year apart, but we wouldn't change a thing. I grew up in a small Louisiana town called Ponchatoula - about 90 minutes from the Sandhill Beachhouse. I attended college at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. Shortly after college, I moved (of all places) to Cherry Hill, New Jersey. That's where I met the love of my life - Irene, a Jersey Girl - born and bred. Nine years ago, we moved our family to Chicago, where we currently reside.

Why Lisa Drew-Authement chose Ocean Springs
We own both Seagrass Beach Cottage as well as the Sandhill Beachhouse just next door. I immediately fell in love with both of these properties, their charm and character, not to mention the serenity of their own private beach right on the Gulf of Mexico. Our favorite part of Sandhill is the oversized covered back porch, where we can sit all day, taking in the breathtaking views and sounds of the ocean. Ultimately, Irene and I plan to retire here, but in the meantime, we are pleased to share our home as a vacation rental property.
What makes this House unique
The most desirable benefit of Sandhill Beachhouse is, well, the BEACH! It sits on its own private natural white sand beach. The sounds and views of the Gulf are absolutely spectacular, whether taking them in from the oversized back porch, the gazebo on the beach, or from your beach chair right on the water. The home itself is a charming southern beauty, with open floor plan, soaring ceilings, and spacious rooms. Oh, and the elevator is pretty cool as well.

Socially distanced paradise!
The house was stunning and clean. Views off the back deck couldn’t be beat. Even the kids kept commenting about how gorgeous the house was. The beach was everything we could have asked for. Mississippi beaches aren’t clear water beaches, so not the best for swimming, but didn’t stop our kids from frolicking in the water all day every day while we were there.
We loved playing cards in the gazebo by the shore, and sipping coffee on the deck in the morning. We caught fish from shore, found a hermit crab, and enjoyed watching the pelicans day after day.
During the COVID crisis, this provided the perfect getaway for our family of five. Quiet, remote, and still close enough to Biloxi to pick up some delicious shrimp to bring back to the house. We didn’t have to worry about sharing the beach, and got our perfect week of rest and relaxation.
Already thinking about booking again. Don’t miss this gorgeous beach house.
The layout of this home is perfect. In fact, we took photos and drew the layout to build something similar! Owners were super helpful. Home had lots of amenities not listed in listing. Great place to relax and close to town.
Very nice house with private beach. Nice park with fishing and hiking trails near. Great for a family!
We had a very relaxing time in the midst of chaos going on in our country. After our counties were devastated by tornadoes it was a blessing to be in such a peaceful place. The house is well maintained. It’s the perfect place to come and write!
Lovely Beach Home
The large common area with well equipped kitchen and huge dining table had beautiful views of the ocean when you entered the home. The 3 bedrooms gave you a choice of varying bed comfort and natural light-the master had a soft mattress with bright morning sunrise, another bedroom had 2 twin beds of medium firmness and sunset views while the third had a firm mattress and was the darkest of the bedrooms. The elevator was a bonus and very appreciated since I had injured my knee a week prior to the trip. We have vacationed many years on this small strip of private beach due to the privacy and lack of people on the beach. You feel like you own your piece of the shoreline. If you like to gamble the casinos of Biloxi are only a short drive away. This is a quiet oasis that we will always return to enjoy.
Thank you for your kind words about the Sandhill Beachhouse. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope you will stay with us again in the future.
