This upper floor apartment has been recently renovated and has vaulted ceilings, lovely views to the sea and is close to Jolly Harbour and Jolly Beach. The spacious veranda also has views of the hills, and the large private pool and secluded gardens are shared by just the 4 apartments in this attractive, colonial style property, set back on a private road with off street parking. Hamilton House is a leisurely 7-minute stroll down a country lane to the local supermarket, restaurants and shops of Jolly Harbour, and a further 7-minute stroll to the stunning Jolly Beach, where there is a host of water sports and activities.
The living area of the apartment includes a well-equipped kitchen with dining area and plenty of space for comfortable living in the lounge. This opens on to a west facing, private covered spacious veranda enjoying spectacular views to the front and hillside views to the side. There is an external dining set, comfortable seating and a charcoal barbecue. Throughout the apartment there is a feeling of space, light and air from the vaulted ceilings and stylish decor. There are ceiling fans and air conditioning throughout and full insect mesh on all the windows. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, built in wardrobes and direct access to the veranda. There is a second twin bedroom with built in wardrobes and another full shower room. There is a cot and highchair for little ones.
We are situated on a private road of 3 villas and Hamilton House with 4 apartments at the rear of the estate. Our location is almost opposite the entrance to Jolly Harbour. The beauty of the location is that you do not need a car because Jolly Harbour is a leisurely 7-minute stroll down a quiet lane and it contains a very well-equipped supermarket and an impressive range of shops and good quality restaurants. You go through Jolly Harbour to get to Jolly Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with calm turquoise waters and soft powdery sand. At Jolly Beach you can get involved in all sorts of water sports and excursions, or simply find a quiet spot at the end of the beach. Valley Church Beach is also walking distance and is a bit more laid back and popular with the locals. If you do decide to hire a car (which we can help you with) there are lots of amazing local attractions a few minutes drive away such as Swash Water Park at Darkwood Beach and Sheer Rocks restaurant & bar at Cocobay Resort.

Amazing accommodations; fully stocked kitchen, very clean, comfortable, and a beautiful veranda to watch the sunset.
The pool and property are very well maintained.
Jenny was so welcoming and wonderful!
This apartment is close to gorgeous beaches, excellent local food/entertainment and grocery store.
Would highly recommend!
We have recently returned from our two week holiday staying in apartment 2 at Hamilton House. The apartment is well maintained with lovely grounds surrounded by lush foliage just as the photos suggests. We hired a car for the duration of our stay in Antigua and having driven around most of the island we felt that the location of Hamilton House has some of the best beaches in the vicinity that Antigua has to offer. There are several good restaurants within walking distance and with the Sugar Ridge Resort next door it is perfect for sipping your cocktails whilst watching the sun go down over Jolly Harbour. A lovely holiday enjoyed by all the family we would definitely recommend Hamilton House and hope to return in the not to distant future!

Thank you, Sarah, for taking the time to share your views on Hamilton Estate and Antigua. It is great to know that the holiday was a success and reviews are helpful for future guests to get a feel of the place.
We are already talking about when we can go back. The apartment is clean and perfectly outfitted for our family of four.
There is a very good supermarket close by as well as several really good restaurants and of course 4 (yes four) awe inspiring beaches with warm turquoise waters and even warmer locals.
I do recommend a car because while things are close the walk isn’t ideal especially with children as you have to walk along a busy road. A car for the week was under $400 total.
Jenny who manages the property is amazing. She set up transport to and from the airport. a sailing adventure, New Years Eve dinner plans and even got us last minute COVID testing for our return trip home when our plans fell through.
Hope to be back next year!
One of the most hospitable stays I've ever had and I travel alot. Howard and Cheryl have been nothing but stellar and exceptional host. Highly recommended would be back!!!

Excellent accommodation
We had a very enjoyable holiday in apartment 2 of Hamiliton House. Everything was as described on the website. Beaches and supermarket all within reasonable walking distance. The only issues we found with the accommodation were only minor and have been included in previous customer reviews, these being refurbishment of bathrooms now required and cooker is probably past its best, one ring not working or permanently on very low. The free transfers from and to the airport went very smoothly and Jenny was very friendly and helpful with advice regarding restaurants etc.
Any contact I had with Howard was always responded to promptly and if we ever return to the same area wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Fabulous place
We stayed in Apartment 2 upstairs as we wanted a nice view .. I managed the stairs well considering my new knee replacement .. we hired a car which I think you need to get out and around the beautiful island of Antigua. The beaches are amazing and great food bars although can be quite expensive. Jenny’s warm welcome and fabulous knowledge was brilliant... our only concern was it just needed updated as everything looked tired but it has not put us off as we will definitely be returning and staying at Hamilton House ..

Had a lovely stay.
This was our second visit to Antigua having stayed inside the Jolly Harbour complex previously.
We decided to have a chill out holiday this time after touring around most of the island last time. Apartment 2 was very relaxing with more than enough space for just 2 of us but with the bonus of the swimming pool.We made good use of all the kitchen facilities.Showers were good and strong. No wi fi problems.
A great bonus was the airport transfers.Emmalynn was the guest manager and was a great help if we had a any minor issues or needed advice
We did hire a car from Tropical rentals.A small SUV.A good deal.
We used it to shop, especially the Jolly Harbour supermarket and stores and visit beaches.
The great location means you have easy access to some of the best beaches on the island.Valley Church,Turners,Ffryes Darkwood, are all stunning. The beach next to the Cocobay resort (coco beach i think) is lovely too although hard to get deckchairs because the hotel chairs are all thats available. To be honest we blagged a couple.
Our favourite was the beautiful secluded Hermitage beach in front of the exlusive resort.Go through Jolly Harbour estate, turn left out of the back security gate and follow the dusty unmade road.Go past the back of the Hermitage beach resort hotel and parking is available.Hotel guests pay a premium to stay and swim there and you can see why.It is a public beach.Bring your own sand roll though.
Apart from eating in, the NEST on Valley Church was very good for Bar food. The Italian in JH and SHELLS fish and chips with the red bus over the road were also very good.
Never got round to visiting Sugar Ridge next door for a drink or food.Happy hours at the Crows nest bar in JH and Castaways on JH beach are very good.
Howard was very helpful in his emails with advice to any questions i had.
Would reccomend and stay again.

A comfortable well situated appartment
This was our second stay at Hamilton House and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The apartment is well maintained and equipped, with a good balcony offering views of the sunset. It is well situated being within walking distance of both Jolly Harbour and it's facilities and the local beach at Valley Church. Other excellent beaches and restaurants are nearby.
Although not essential, car hire for some or all of the time enables you to make the most of the island.

The apartment had every thing we needed and required. Will definitely be visiting again.
Myself (John, Pat and Nick) had booked Hamilton house as a base to take some cricket in and some relaxing down time. Prior to booking we weren't expecting a pick up from the airport but received a welcome email from Howard of a free pick up.when we arrived at Hamilton house Jenny Hadeed was there to greet us . Very friendly and informative information. just to emphasize how helpful every one has been, Cosmo picked us up from the airport also took us to the cricket stadium to buy tickets the day before the game. Not knowing the ticket office only takes cash. We only had $100 in cash. We needed $50 more so borrowed $50 off Cosmo. (Over and above job wise )(cheers Cosmo) Jenny was very helpful from day 1, Anything that was required was delivered. Thanks once again Jenny, Howard and Cosmo. (John, Pat and Nick.

Lovely Modern Apartment
Spent a very comfortable 9 days (8 nights) in Apartment 2 of Hamilton House. The apartment is very clean, spacious and nicely furnished with aircon and ceiling fans in the living space and bedrooms. The master bedroom has two wardrobes both with a good supply of hangers and one which houses a safe. It also has an en suite bathroom with shower over the bath, vanity sink unit and mirrored cupboard over the sink. The kitchen in the apartment is fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you would need to make meals, if you so wished. It also has a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. The living area has plenty of seating, with flat screen TV and CD player at one end and table and chairs at the Kitchen/dining end. There is wifi in the property but this can be very intermittent at times. The apartment has a large veranda which is accessed from the master bedroom or the living room, with 2 sun loungers, table and chairs and charcoal bbq. This overlooks the grounds of Hamilton Estate but the sea can be seen in the distance.
The Jolly Harbour complex is about a 10-15 minute walk but it is more comfortable to travel by car. The road doesn’t provide much space to walk and it can be quite dark walking along the road at night. There are several restaurants en route to Jolly Harbour, Shell’s Fish & Chips is just opposite and is located inside a red double decker bus and then there is Miracles restaurant which I’ve heard does good lobster, we only had drinks there. We did however have breakfast at Castaways Bar and Grill which is on the beach. They have different events on different evenings and on Friday night they have a bbq buffet with a band and bonfire on the beach.
We also had drinks at Westpoint which overlooks the marina. They have Karaoke on Thursday evenings from 9pm. We also had some lovely wine at Akropolis, Al Porto and the Mayday restaurant.
Howard is a great host. He was very prompt with his responses to my emails with my numerous questions. Our transfers to and from the airport were included and we were met promptly even though our flight was delayed. We arrived at the property at approx 11 pm and were greeted and shown how everything worked and had our questions answered. Great service, Howard and your team. I would definitely recommend this property, Our party consisted of 3 adults and we stayed August 2016.

Money well spent
I stayed at Hamilton Estate for eight days and I felt very comfortable, as stated it was "home away from home". The property was well kept and maintained. The customer service was great! The listing description given was very accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, and I like the closeness of restaurants.. I couldn't ask for more. Yes, I will definitely recommend my friends and family to Hamilton Estate property. My next vacation to Antigua I will be staying at the Hamilton Estate.

Lovely apartment with a private balcony
I stayed in apartment 2 for 17 days in February and was impressed with the standard of the accommodation. The apartment has recently been revamped and was delightful, there was everything there I needed, including a dishwasher. The bed was really comfortable and the aircon was great. Howard could not have been more helpful and arranged car hire and a trip on Jabberwocky for me. All in all a great place to stay and I wouldn't think twice about recommending it (or any of the other apartments on the complex) to my family and friends. Thank you Howard, Cheryl and your team for your great customer service.

About the host
Hosted by Howard and Cheryl Adams at Jolly Villas
We absolutely love Antigua. We came on a visit and hardly seem to have been away since. Antigua is the heart and soul of the Caribbean, an exotic tropical island with an abundance of palm-fringed beaches, warm sparkling seas, English-speaking and life-loving locals, a wealth of land and water based activities, a huge choice of delicious international cuisines, and a background soundtrack of calypso and reggae. No wonder we decided to make Antigua our second home.
Why they chose this property
Location, location, location. Scenic, convenient, comfortable, and a true home from home.
What makes this property unique
We pride ourselves in making every Jolly Villas holiday a special and personal experience. It's our job to make sure your visit to Antigua is as relaxing, carefree and memorable as you would wish, from helping you arrange flights, meeting and greeting you at the airport, providing you with a welcome pack on arrival, and supporting you with 24/7 local customer service should you experience any concerns during your stay; all in one of the world's most desirable holiday locations.
