The Glacier Lodge offers magnificent views of Snaefellsjokull to the north and a panorama across Faxafloi bay to the south. Built in 2010 and one of a small group of similar properties, this is a modern self-catering cottage of 100 sqm which can comfortably accommodate six adults.
Just a two hour drive from Reykjavik, this home away from home, is the perfect base from which to explore one of Iceland's most celebrated regions - the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
South facing and with a light open plan design, the lodge sleeps up to eight people in three second floor bedrooms (one with a double bed and two with twins) and a fold out double sofa-bed located on the landon. There is a fully equipped modern kitchen, plus a dining area.

During the winter time, the road leading to the Glacier Lodge may be impassable and you may need to park on the Hellnar road (Road 5730) and walk over to the lodge.
Away from light pollution and with vast open skies, Glacier Lodge is in an excellent position for watching displays of the aurora borealis should they occur during your stay.
With the region's natural beauty on your doorstep, including the striking sea stacks of Arnarstapi, there are plenty of things to see and do from a variety of hiking trails, sailing excursions and whale and bird watching opportunities, to activities on and around nearby Snaefellsjokull glacier - including snowmobile.
