## Neighborhood
Olympic legacies and hipster lifestyles have got everyone pining for East London. Whether it’s trendy Shoreditch and Dalston or regenerated Stratford, East London is a great place to be!
Aldgate boasts excellent transport links, gateway to the financial district and easy access into central London.
When it comes to attractions in Aldgate, Norman Foster's iconic skyscraper number 30, St Mary Axe (also known as 'the Gherkin') is hard to miss. Tucked away down a side street, and much harder to spot, is Bevis Marks Synagogue - the oldest synagogue in the UK. On Aldgate High Street you'll find a great selection of well-known chain restaurants and traditional pubs, while Leadenhall food market, Spitalfields Market, Petticoat Lane Market and Brick Lane Market - with its huge selection of boho shops and eateries - are all close by. Lovers of culture will enjoy visiting Whitechapel Art Gallery, famous for its ground-breaking contemporary art exhibitions.
## Transit
A central location in Zone 1 lends itself to convenience, with most major landmarks and areas within easy reach. Fenchurch Street and Liverpool Street train stations are nearby and provide access in and out of London.
Aldgate and Aldgate East are the main tube stations (The property is only a 2 minute walk from Aldgate East Station). The latter is located on the Hammersmith & City line and the District line, while the former is on the Circle Line and Metropolitan Line. Liverpool Street Tube station is also within walking distance.
It’s safe to say that there is a range of options in the form of train, tube and bus services. Getting around is certainly not an issue.
