About this property
Large, Peaceful Villa close to Volterra with Private Pool
This is a large restored mill at the end of a (bumpy!) private road. It is perfect for a family or groups to holiday who are looking for space and privacy. The large private garden surrounds the house. There is a large swimming pool area, with loungers and sun shades. The pool is much larger than your average villa pool and is a real feature of the house, split into three sections, a children's shallow pool, a swimming lane and the main pool area.
There are three double bedrooms that are all en-suite, and a further twin bedroom.
The living space comprises of a large kitchen area with hob, double oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is large dining table that seats 10, as well as an outdoor dining table. There is a sun room off the dining room with a TV, DVD player and Amazon Fire Stick. Accessed from outside is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble drier.
Further to this there is a large basement level accessed externally. This is lovely and cool in the summer and provides a seating area and a pool table.
A car is needed if staying at the property due to it's location. Although the house feels remote you are less then a 10 minute drive to the beautiful town of Volterra, and just under an hour from Pisa. Florence and Sienna are also near enough to visit for the day, as well as sea side areas.
The house has reliable internet and this is available all around the house and the pool area. The cost is included in the rental price.

About the host
Hosted by Anna Lipani

We are a family who live just outside London. Both my husband and I have Italian heritage so have always had strong links to Italy, and love of the country, especially the weather and food! In 2004 we bought the house, after a long search. We had searched all over Italy but Volterra captured our hearts. The location was perfect for us; private but nearby to the town, and great access to both Pisa and Florence airport. The house needed fully renovating, and that was a challenge! But after three years the house was finished and now our favourite thing to do is to visit Volterra with our friends and family to relax at the house, visit our favourite restaurants and explore Tuscany.
Why they chose this property
Volterra is a beautiful town with a wonderful selection of restaurants and bars. It has the charm and beauty of San Gimignano, but without the crowds. From the house you are able to easily travel to Pisa, Sienna and Florence, as well as the coastal areas of Cecina, Viareggio and Forte di Marmi.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with the house because of its secluded location. Set in the valley, surrounded by woodland, you really feel like you escaped the real world, and after hectic lives in the UK we love the calm and tranquillity at the house. When renovating we made a real feature of the pool area, where we spend most of our time in the summer months.
There is plenty of space within the house and the basement area with TV and pool table is a great space to socialise.
