Only a 5 minute drive from both Treyarnon or Porthcothan beaches and also benefitting from access to a number of public footpaths which can take you to the beaches or off into the main village of St Merryn. There is also a bus stop at the top of the driveway, it's a real gem not to be missed!
The village of st Merryn is only a 10 minute walk away and offers pubs, restaurants/takeaways, shops and bakery.
Ideal for short breaks or weekly stays; it's perfect for walkers, cyclists, couples, singletons or friends!
About the lodge
The lodge is a spacious double with private garden area and allocated parking space.
Its light, bright & airy and has a lovely Skandi feel about it. We have lovingly prepared the lodge to ensure that it has everything that you could need... if it’s not there, please ask!
It’s completely detached looking out on the beautiful Cornish countryside - such a peaceful location with lots of nature and visits from the local owl and a couple of roe dear to the meadow if you’re lucky!
When entering the lodge, you will find a comfortable lounge with WiFi, Smart TV and dining area. A small, but perfectly functioning kitchen is located behind this. Off of the lounge area is a shower room and main bedroom.
There is a second room that is dressed as a dressing room/work space with desk however we can provide a folding single bed if required.
A cot is also available if needed.
Arrangements for key collection will be sent to you following confirmation of your booking however collection will be at the lodge so an easy check in is available 🙂
We live next door, so will frequently be on hand to assist should you need anything so please do ask, otherwise you’ll be left to relax and enjoy the beauty Cornwall offers!
Linen will be provided but please do bring your own towels as these are not available. Unfortunately, the lodge is unsuitable for wheelchair users. We must have details of who will be staying in advance. If there is any change to your booking details, again, we must know in advance. Finally, owing to the rural location that we live and out of respect for neighbouring properties, we ask that there are no arrivals after 10.30pm, unless we are told in advance. We do get guests staying for weddings and gatherings and are totally fine with this, it’s just so that we have a bit of awareness!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my elderly Mum for a local wedding. Accommodation was excellent- very clean, no issues with anything. We struggled to find it, but got there in the end and it is easy to access find when you know! Some minor issues with communication via Vrbo app (it wasn’t notifying host of new messages), but host responded quickly following a voicemail.
A very quiet location. Near to many beautiful beach and places of interest. Totally relaxing location. A couple of high steps into the chalet. Very new and modern feel.
A lovely peaceful country location and spotlessly clean.
Perfect for a couple with our dog and everything we needed- even the weather and a Strawberry moon!
Loved our stay in the lodge. Fabulous setting, amazing accommodation facilities and cleanliness. A hidden gem. Recommended it to our friends straight away and would definitely go back.
Brand new cabin in a quiet location. Only few minutes drive to loads of beaches which we loved! Property was well equipped for 2 of us and the dog staying (could have done with a microwave maybe for longer stays to ease on the cooking). Host was great and made us feel welcomed. Thanks
Lovely lodge with everything you need, even an unexpected extra of a washing machine. Superb! Able to walk to some local beaches. Bus 56 goes to Padstow and Newquay on a regular basis which negates the need to drive and get stressed about parking. Interior design is fantastic and really executed
Beautiful place, but communication was a bit up and down. I really dont want to leave a bad review as the host was nice and was communicative however there were just some missed. No towels, not even an extra toilet paper in case we ran out. I shouldn't have to ask foe this. But we did. Again, Beautiful place just needs a bit more work on communicating
This is a beautiful property which is a perfect base to explore beaches and areas around padstow. The accommodation was very clean and contained everything needed for our stay. Beautiful views and outdoor area. Lovely touches such as milk in the fridge and tasty biscuits on arrival. Atlantic taxi company was very welcome for getting in and out of Padstow (avoiding busy parking). Rick Steins cornish arms pub is within walking distance. Would highly recommend this property for couples however it does have two bedrooms.
The lodge was clean, comfortable and had everything the two of us and our two dogs needed for a long weekend. It was quiet and had lovely views over the countryside.
It’s only a short walk into the village where there are a choice of eating places (but choose wisely-we chose the farmers arms based on their website and it was the most disappointing meal/experience ever). The hosts were friendly and helpful and the cake they left us on arrival was a nice treat. All in all a great little place and would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
Well what a lovely little find this lodge was. Nice and new, spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need. Looking out onto open feilds making it a very pleasant view to relax with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Chantel and Tom the hosts, made our stay feel very welcoming with good communication running upto our arrival. Would not hesitate to stop here again, loved it. Thank you very much.
The lodge is set in the countryside with a fabulous view. It is equipped with everything you need & is lovely & clean. You can walk into St Merryn & there are many beaches & coastal walks within walking distance. A bus that passes the driveway goes to Padstow & Newquay. Any questions we had & local information was readily given by Nell & the welcoming cake was much appreciated. We took our dog so the enclosed garden was really handy. As an added bonus the weather was perfect. We had a fabulous holiday & will definitely like to visit again
The property was a little difficult to find by the post code however we were given some good direction by the owner and found the property straight away. The property itself was bigger than I had expected I do not think the photos does Justice. The property felt very modern and very clean. The location is fantastic as you have three beaches all in walking distance our poor westies were glad to get home for some rest. Thank you.

St Merryn visit
The property is fine but it took a lot of digging to find the reference to guests needing to take their own towels. I think a microwave oven would have made a nice addition to the facilities. Otherwise a very pleasant stay. It was difficult to find the correct entry to the property.

Disappointed in the attitude of the host
There's a lot to like about this property. It's new, in a peaceful location and is about a 20 minute walk to a lovely beach. It's minimal in decor to the point of sparse - no towels, no beach towels or beach equipment, no hairdryer, no coffee machine, no shower gel etc. Quite spacious and modern though, and more than adequate for somewhere to rest your head if you are out and about all day. They haven't made much of the outside space yet - a couple of old wooden chairs and a barrel which is a shame when the view is good. There's no sofa indoors, just two upright bucket chairs which make you feel a bit like you are in a waiting room - so it would have helped to have somewhere to relax outdoors. Good outdoor area if you have a dog though - big and securely fenced. I have to be honest and say we had an issue that spoiled things. On arrival the place smelt really badly of mould or damp. We let the hosts know but they were away for the first couple of days so we made the best of it and threw open the doors etc. and they sent round a plumber, who did his best to help locate the issue and then later in the week they put in an automatic air-freshener to try to deal with the smell but it wasn't ever resolved. It's a new build so these things happen but what I didn't so much like was the host suggesting that she couldn't smell it, that nobody could smell it except us! At that point, we just tried to ignore it, and her, and stay out all day but we did need the doors open to keep the smell at bay. In the end we left a day early because we were fed up of sitting with doors open morning and night, buying bleach to pour down the sink twice a day, and of being told repeatedly that we were inventing the issue. Problems happen with new properties of course, but it was the denying the problem existed and the implications of that, that bothered us . I wouldn't normally mention a problem in a review but as the host kept telling us nobody else could smell it, it made me wonder if other guests were being told the same? I suggested the host offer a partial refund because of the issue and as we left early but predictably she refused as it was 'just us' that had the issue. I've left the matter with Vrbo to deal with now. Disappointing week for us, but to be fair, it could nonetheless be a nice place to stay for others in the future as the host has messaged to tell me how no other guests since have complained - so definitely it was just us then, eh? :-) :-) :-)
The property itself although quite small had everything you needed and was spotless. Friendly hosts who even gave us a welcoming gift. We will definitely stay here again as it was so close to everything you would want to see.
I enjoyed my stay. The property is indeed bigger feeling than the photos, and the location is so close to wonderful walks and beaches. I was allowed to come a bit early (although I got lost and didn't make it earlier:), which was nice.
Comfortable, modern and just what we wanted as a base for exploring the area and further afield in Cornwall. Lovely view over the surrounding countryside. The owners who live next door were very helpful. Would book again.
