Beautiful property

Number 37 is a beautiful luxurious property, that gives you everything you need without no scrimping. Everything is so meticulous and furnished to such a high standard that you feel like you really can chill out. In hotel language this is very much a 5* Boutique property with owners that make sure you are very well catered for. Within a 10 minute walk there is a small town with pubs, shops and eateries. We were here to be in striking distance for our son who was at the the Reading festival, but this is a place that anyone can come to get away for a weekend away and really relax. Lovely place

Excellent and convenient base for south of England

This house is exceptional: very well equipped, comfortable, attractive, clean, and ultra-convenient. There is space for parking both on the drive (although you will need good judgment!) and on the road in front. Station with direct trains to London is literally 9 minutes away on foot, and a small grocery store (where you can get everything you need) is maybe 5 minutes' walk. If you want more variety, a huge supermarket is only a few minutes away by car. Access to the M4 highway is very easy. Between train and highway we were able to travel around very easily: for example, the train to London can be as quick as 36 minutes. The area itself is really quite nice, and the small town of Theale has pretty much all that you could need, but be warned that, at least when we stayed, food service hours at some of the pubs in town were limited. Communication with Viv was excellent. A nice touch was the welcome basket she left for us as we were staying an entire week. We would definitely stay here again.

This place was PERFECT for us, and Viv was an amazing host, sharing her amazing place with my family

This place was great - very well appointed with a beautiful back garden and enough room for all of us to spread out. The photos don’t do it justice. We were In the area for the Henley Regatta and found the location very convenient with a train station just a 10 minute walk from the place, allowing us to get to London and many surrounding villages without a car. Great pubs in town as well. Viv left an amazing welcome basket, which we weary travelers greatly appreciated.

37 Church St., Theale, England

This property was delightful. It's location was perfect in such a quaint town with easy access to the highway and conveniences. The host was outstanding, thoughtful and helpful. The property itself was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable and peaceful. If we ever have occasion to visit this area of England again, this would be the top choice on our list.

Why they chose this property

The property is a three bedroom end of terrace cottage which dates back to the late 1800's and is organised over three floors - it has recently undergone a renovation programme which is a credit to the previous owners. It provides a lovely space to either work or enjoy the surrounding areas, of which there are many. The accommodation consists of a large sitting room with a separate space to work that benefits from a nice outlook onto the pretty village church, a log burner, ample comfortable seating, Skyglass tv, record player and vinyls, games and DVD collection and fast WIFI. The sitting room leads onto a very large high ceilinged kitchen diner which is the main hub of the house - again all the mod cons; dishwasher, large fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, Nespresso Creatista coffee machine, underfloor heating, water softener etc. The open plan dining room houses a table that will seat up to 6 people and has a lovely aspect overlooking the pretty south west facing garden, that can be accessed by large bi fold doors, which when opened up, brings the outside area feeling directly into the house A newly refurbished large shower/wet room is also on the ground floor. The first floor is accessed from the kitchen via stairs and offers two bedrooms; 1 double (king size bed) and 1 single, with a bathroom (bath only) servicing both. Both bedrooms have ample storage space for both short and longer stays of up to a month. On the second floor there is a further double bedroom with a king size bed and more storage with also a very pleasant outlook over the village below.

The south-west facing garden is a particularly pleasant aspect of the property, with it's separate sitting and eating area. Enjoy a drink by the firepit or use the seating space and BBQ to enjoy some alfresco dining.

What makes this property unique

The property has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard with upmarket interiors, memorabilia and artwork which also reflect some of the passions of the owner; fashion, animals, travel (namely South Africa) and a love of bold colours, making the property quirky but very comfortable and homely at the same time.
The garden has been cleverly designed with the beds being planted with many wild flowers and established shrubs that have been organised to ensure there is always colour and interest in the garden, whatever time of year.
There is one parking spot attached to the house on a private drive, however, if more parking is required there are plenty of places on the street or in local car parks all, within quick walking distance.
