Great Easter Break
We had a lovely Easter Break at Sea Sky Villa. The check in process was really easy . Marcia, the manager, met us there and was really helpful with any little niggles we had.
The Villa is lovely and was clean and we even got pool towels . We were very lucky with the weather and so spend a lot of time outside.
It is about a 10 min walk to the start of the walk up Roya Mountain which the kids really enjoyed ...not a big volcano but quite interesting ..approx 30 min walk up and then you can walk around the top and then in to the volcano itself.
It is about a 15 mins walk to Aqualava waterpark...rel small park but good for half a day.
We had to pay 20E a day to heat the pool. We did not mind this so much but we did not pay the 25E a day for the air conditioning. I do think this should be included in the price, even if only for the night time. It is quite an expensive villa and we have never had to pay for air con before. We could have done with it as quite hot a night .
The other negative I would give is the position of the villa. When we booked it, it indicated on the Vrbo site that it was very close to Playa Blanca. (It still doses).In fact it is a 40 mins walk. It is a 25 min walk to Playa Flamingo beech and a 25 min walk to any restaurants. Our family did not have a car as we assume did not need one. We did not mind the walk too much but the 40 min walk back from Playa Blanca in 27 degree afternoon heat was a bit tiring! One of out group had a car so drove to the supermarket. We mostly ate in so he was going a lot and you def need a car. There is a small hotel supermarket about 5 walk away where you can get a lot of things but no fresh produce except bread.
Playa Flamingo and Playa Blanca were really nice and we would def go back. The kids loved rock pooling and we saw some great red crabs.
Due to the walk , we only went out once in the evening to a lovely Greek restaurant called Sybastians, recommended by Marcia. We could have got taxis but ,with kids, it seemed a bit of a faff.
So enjoy your time there but you probably need a car and be prepared to pay extra for heated pool and air conditioning .
