A piece of history
What a wonderful and authentic building, The history steeps from the 10 feet thick walls! Great care has been taken to retain as much of the original features as possible and the decor is true to the age, Wonderful tapestries hang from the walls and spiral stone staircases lead you through the floors. The rooms are clean and well maintained. If your looking from something a bit different, then this is the place for you,

Wonderful Historic Place to Stay with THE most Comfortable Bed!
This was a wonderful stay, in a unique piece of history. It was clean, and the food left for breakfast was delicious. The bed... oh the bed... it was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. Loved my night there.

Great castle stay
We put off staying here for years as we didn't realise quite how extensive the castle was (the website really doesn't do the place justice...it says you can explore the castle but the lack of photos made us think there wasn't much else to it!). Beautiful castle, lots to explore, great views from the top, and the bedroom/living room were surprisingly warm and comfortable given how cold it was in March. Great continental breakfast left in the fridge. Highly recommend for a romantic night away.

Wonderful, truly unique and unforgettable experience
We stayed for 2 nights in Neidpath Castle to celebrate a 60th birthday. As we have a great interest in history and especially Scottish castles, it seemed like the perfect place to stay. We did have very high expectations but everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. Everything was just as described however both the castle and the Queen Mary's Chamber were bigger than we expected. It really was wonderful to stay in such an opulent suite and to be able to explore the castle at will. Being the castle's only (living) residents greatly enhanced the experience. We were very glad that we opted for the private dinner on our second night, served by the lovely Chris at the dining table in our suite. Each of the 3 courses was truly delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. There is an extensive menu from which you pre-book your choices a week or so before you go. We would definitely recommend staying for 2 nights (or more!) to give you time to relax, enjoy and explore.

The excitement of exploring new places is one of my favourite things, so being able to open up Neidpath Castle for people to stay in, explore and enjoy is a great privilege for me.

Why they chose this property

Neidpath has hardly changed since it was built in the 1300s. It really does feel like stepping back in time. Whilst the bed is very comfortable and we have managed to introduce hot water and lighting, the roaring log fire and twisting spiral staircases are just the same as they always were. You can even decide to dine in your rooms, choosing from a local menu of seasonal game and vegetables, such as Mary Queen Of Scots would have enjoyed during her visits here. Evening drinks on the battlements, with a breathtaking view of the River Tweed is rather special too.

What makes this property unique

Immerse yourself in Scottish History and explore the entire 6 floors of the castle in your own time.
Head out into the beautiful Scottish Border countryside and walk for miles in any direction, or stroll down to nearby Peebles for dinner or delicious tea and cakes.
Be adventurous and take a dip in the river below the castle, then race back up to your chamber for deep, hot soak in the roll top bath!
