A short impression of a too short vacation
As my best friend and I needed some rest after stressful weeks in our everyday working and personal lives and after not being on vacation in months or years, we spontaneously decided that a break in a place we've never been to before would do us good.
Very interested in history as we are, Pula seemed to be the right place to fulfill our needs: A region where architectural and cultural witnesses of ancient and recent historical events (speaking of e. g. the Roman Empire, the Austrian-Hungarian age, the Italian thus Mediterranean influence up to the not so long ago Yugoslav age) now coexist peacefully just next to the lovely Adriatic Sea. Despite the fact that a mere five days were all but not enough (one already needs a week to calm down at first), we managed to take the best out of it, learnt and saw quite a lot and will come back, that's for sure.
To come to a conclusion that should not ignore the rooftop above our vacation needing heads, we are glad and thankful to have stumbled over the Clerisseau in the very city centre of Pula. It was very inviting, clean and mostly entailed anything we needed – we might have missed kitchen basics like salt, pepper and oil, which we stocked up on, and perhaps a stopple to hold back the water in the sink.
