Front garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture, barbecue and firepit. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: This property has a natural water supply via a borehole. . Gwel Teg Shepherds Huts is situated at Lower Killigorrick Farm, the home of Killigorrick Alpacas. It is a working farm in a small hamlet approximately 4 miles from the seaside and fishing town of Looe on the Southeast coast of Cornwall. There is easy access to the A38 and other main roads so that Cornwall can be explored and enjoyed at whatever time of year.
Lowena is a hand-crafted Shepherds Hut decorated with a traditional theme situated on a hillside overlooking the stunning countryside of Cornwall to the West and St Austell over 20 miles on the horizon. The hut has its own gravelled outdoor space with a wooden table and chairs and an Ebdon firepit/barbecue. The front stable door opens into an open plan living space, comprising kitchen, living area and a dining area. The dining area has a breakfast bar and stools is situated in front of a large opening window so that the view of an area of landscape value can be appreciated whilst enjoying a meal. There is an electric wood burner effect heater for instant warmth on chilly evenings or a vertical fan if the weather is too warm. The double bedroom has quality bedlinen, and towels are provided in the en-suite shower room has a top of the range composting toilet, a magnifying mirror, illuminated mirror and electric shaving point. There is a plentiful supply of hot water provided by an LPG water heater with water provided by a borehole that is extensively filtered and regularly tested for purity.
The owners have tried to ensure that guests will have a memorable experience whilst staying on their working farm. There are many activities to be enjoyed during days out and the option to cook meals in the hut or enjoy sampling the good quality restaurants and pubs providing food. There are numerous cycle routes nearby including the Camel Trail in Bodmin where bikes can be hired if needed. There are many walks to be enjoyed a short drive away including Deer Park Forest, Cardinham Woods, Golitha Falls, Minions and Hurlers to name but a few. The are also many public footpaths close to the farm. National Trust Houses and beaches are abundant in Cornwall. The county is steeped in history including mining and museums reflecting this past include Wheal Martyn, Geevor MIne, East Pool Mine and Levant Mine. Cornwall also lays fame to the location of numerous popular TV shows and films, including Poldark, Doc Martin, Fishermen’s friends and more recently, ‘Beyond Paradise’ which for some part was filmed 4 miles away in Looe.
