Nestled in the Cornish countryside and yet just a mile from the beach, Roosters Rest is a perfect hideaway for two guests. As well as the comfortable modern accommodation offered by the barn conversion, guests can enjoy the 3 acres of small holding surrounding the cottage (where the owners grow their own organic veg), the open field and pond complete with stunning cayuga ducks. A mile down the road is the village of Downderry with its popular pub overlooking the sea, large beach and restaurant. There is also a nice walk along the river on the Otter Trail through the Seaton Valley Park to The Copley Arms at Hessenford.
The accommodation is arranged over three floors, the top floor being a large double bedroom with with king size bed and air conditioning. The middle floor is the lounge area with juliet balcony from where there is a stunning view across the land and valley opposite, there is also a shower room at this level with shower and wc. Finally on the ground floor is a modern kitchen diner and an additional bathroom. Newly converted the furnishings are modern and comfortable throughout and there is a lovely sense of peace and calm.
The many delights of South East Cornwall are all close at hand with wonderful coastal path walks, the bustling fishing port of Looe just a 15 minute drive down the road and numerous beaches to enjoy. The Cliff Top Cafe at Freathy should definitely be on the list of spots to visit, perhaps on the way to a walk at the stunning Rame Peninsula.
Roosters Rest has parking outside the building and can be booked with Horseshoe Cottage next door for parties of up to 6. One well behaved dog is welcome (please note that there are ducks on site and various farm animals nearby so you are fully responsible for your dog and ensuring that they are on the lead where necessary).
