Bayview is a charming traditional seaside cottage occupying a prime position in the picture postcard village of Collieston. Originally two fisherman’s cottages; Bayview has been sympathetically converted and extended and now provides a high standard of accommodation in a superb setting. Situated in a quiet no through lane in an elevated position above the harbour, it looks down onto the pretty horse shoe shaped sandy beach and harbour.
All rooms enjoy fantastic sea views. The pretty lounge has a welcoming open fireplace and modern sofas. The conservatory at the far end of the cottage has large windows that maximise the views; an ideal venue to spot the passing sea life; porpoises, dolphins and seals are frequently seen close to shore. There is a bright, modern kitchen/dining room. Upstairs are two beautifully presented double bedrooms and a modern family bathroom. The gardens consist of small lawn terraces let into the adjoining slopes that lead down to the sea, via a series of meandering paths.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful week in Bayview overlooking Collieston harbour.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful week in Bayview overlooking Collieston harbour. The cottage was clean, well equipped and very cozy in the unseasonably cold weather; being able to sit in the conservatory and enjoy the view on a windy day was great. Although there are no shops in the village, it is a quick drive to Newburgh (where all the seals hang out on the beach) or Ellon (if you need a bigger supermarket). As well as some lovely local walks around the headlands, it is well worth taking a drive inland or up the beautiful coastal route towards Fraserburgh and beyond, and Aberdeen is an easy 25 minutes drive with some great museums and galleries, ten pin bowling, cinemas, good food and more.Huge thanks to our hosts. We would 100% recommend Bayview as a place to stay.
