## Neighborhood
Covering the SE14 postcode, New Cross is one of London's hottest neighbourhoods thanks to its proximity just four miles from Charing Cross, its urban vibe and its period housing stock. It has even been touted as south London's answer to Shoreditch.
Driven by the art students and successful graduates, the creative scene in New Cross is booming. Try Lewisham Art House on Lewisham Way for photography, botany and yoga classes, along with a free gallery that holds exhibitions celebrating local talent. The Deptford Film Club takes place above the Amersham Arms on New Cross Road and is part of a wider cinematic scene that also includes the Deptford and New Cross Free Film Festival (indoor and outdoor screenings). The London Theatre on New Cross Road is the place to be for plays that try out before transferring to the West End.
## Transit
The rail network is excellent and you get to Canary Wharf from Deptford Bridge on the DLR, London Bridge is one station away from both New Cross Gate and New Cross station and Queens road for Cannon Street. Main south east Bus depot is also based here and access into and out of London is very easy
