I'm a retired vet, and this is the place I like to stay when I want to unwind. I love the countryside and natural world, geology of the area, wildlife, cliff walks, sea swimming and surfing. I care about the environment and with this in mind I'm taking steps to make the bungalow environmentally friendly as possible, whether this is choosing Eco-paints, or upgrading the property with solar panels ( planned for this winter). In 2023 I added solar panels, a new bathroom and in 2024 renovated the master bedroom using eco-paints and restored the original Edwardian Fireplace.

Why they chose this property

My grandfather watched this bungalow being built when he was a child staying in Crackington with his parents in 1913. He always loved this special place, and when he returned from World War II, he was able to buy it. It's a perfect quiet spot tucked away in a sheltered valley with Atlantic sea views. Surrounded by nature it was a place he could rest and recover from the war. It's been a place where we've holidayed ever since. Whether it's in stormy weather in the winter, or balmy beach days in the summer this is a place for you to unwind. We're letting it to guests for the first time in 2023. I love the wooded walk up the valley with wild ferns and crystal clear water running over rocks into pools, the cliff walks and beach exploring.

What makes this property unique

Atlantic Ocean, Surfing Beach, Sea views, Surrounded by nature, Wooded valleys, Cliff walks.
This is one of the very few places where you can stay in Crackington Haven.
Crackington Haven was protected from overdevelopment in the 1930's, and since gifted to the National Trust. It's now considered to be an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Tucked away, unspoilt sandy surfing beach, great for children, close walk to beach, pub and cafe.
No need to drive as you can take footpaths directly from bungalow to cliff coastal walks, and walk as far as Boscastle, Widemouth, Bude, Tintagel ( depending on your fitness! ) and return by local bus directly to the Haven.
The bungalow has been in our family for 75 years, it's recently been renovated to a high standard and is tucked away in a secluded wildlife garden. Views to ocean from bedrooms, living room and patio terrace.
