Charming period cottage quietly located in the centre of Winchester
Alresford is home to this holiday home. Jane Austen's House Museum and Avington Park are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at South Downs National Park and Winnall Moors Nature Reserve. Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium and Mizmaze are also worth visiting. Break out the clubs and hit the links on a nearby golf course, or seek out an adventure with hiking/biking trails and cycling.
Absolutely a wonderful home with all one needs for a stay. Well stocked kitchen and ample room. Had a small issue with the heat on first day, but the owner immediately responded and fixed.
It is very close to town with a 5 min walk via path. The train light show was very nice. The trains stop at 10 pm so no overnight rumbles.
Very homely, beautifully decorated with interesting art work throughout, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds.We thought it might be noisy because the trains were near but it was not at all- a very quiet and peaceful location with great walks nearby. The town of Alresford with it's independent shops and plenty of choice for eating out is lovely. We ate well and reasonably at The Bell as recommended by our host. We visited Winchester using the cheap and efficient Park and Ride system. Wonderful Cathedral, interesting museums and a vibrant shopping area. . We can highly recommend the property and the area. We hope to stay again.
