On the edge of the Gower peninsula, Swallow Cottage boasts everything you need for a relaxing break. All on one level, the accommodation is well laid out with two bedrooms (a double and a twin), an open plan L-shaped living space, bathroom, and conservatory. The spacious living room/kitchen/diner is perfect for family time, whether it’s enjoying a meal together, or settling down for movie night on the 50” TV. Afterwards, you can relax in the cosy conservatory and enjoy some quiet time overlooking the garden and open countryside. Swallow Cottage is part of Cefn Gorwydd Fawr Farm. The farmhouse dates back to the 17th century and the cottages themselves converted from the old milking barn. Swallow and its partner, Meadow Cottage are set in ¾ acre of lawned garden, surrounded by mature trees.
Just a short walk away you’ll find yourself in the local village of Gowerton, here you’ll find everything you need including shops, post-office, local pubs and restaurants, cafés, butchers, and a bakery. If you plan to stay local, you can explore the countryside from the doorstep - take a walk in the forest, cycle the countryside, or trot along the bridleway or even play a round of golf at Gower Golf Club, less than 5 minutes away. Swallow Cottage is also pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend along!
This area is the gateway to the Gower; once you’ve settled in, it is recommended you head to the Gower to take in some of Wales’ most beautiful coastline. Gower is home to over thirty beaches and coves, many are dog-friendly, and most are just a 20-minute drive. Five minutes from your doorstep there are cycle paths (car free, mostly flat and family friendly) that can take you to Mumbles or, if you are feeling energetic, Pembrey Country Park with its 8-mile-long sandy beach and plenty of activities for kids. There are around 27 miles of cycle paths to explore in Gower and many more footpaths. With great access to the M4 from the cottage you could even venture further. Head west for more stunning coastline and scenery, or east if you are looking for the hustle and bustle of a city (Swansea, Cardiff, and Bristol). If you plan on ditching the car for the day, you can hop on the train from the station in the village, a direct train to Cardiff is a little over an hour away.
This property can be booked with Meadow Cottage (UK40572) to accommodate up to 8 guests.
Free WiFi
No children under 5 years old.
The property is stone-built with thick walls, consequently mobile phone reception can be poor/not possible inside the cottage with certain mobile phone networks, it is advisable to enable the WiFi-calling option on your phone if available.
