About the host
Hosted by Ronald John
Bellevue Bute is hosted by Dryad Argyll, a small business based in Kilmelford, Argyll, which produces vegan candles using handcrafted botanical extracts and essential oils (Dryad Candleworks) and small batches of artisan roasted coffee (Dryad Coffeeworks). All bookings to Bellevue Bute will receive a bag of our own coffee and an apothecary jar candle with our compliments.
Your host Ronald is the owner of Dryad Argyll and grew up originally in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute and is always happy to share his knowledge and experiences of island life. Ronald is also a mixed media artist, and Bellevue Bute is decorated with many examples of his work from Mid Argyll.

Why they chose this property
The apartment is newly renovated, with restored Victorian features to reflect the Victorian heritage of the tenement building. Bellevue Bute occupies part of the top floor of this iconic red sandstone building and enjoys truly panoramic sea views from all windows. The lounge is of particular note, and many a happy hour can be spent at the window seat watching the changing scenery across Rothesay Bay and the Firth of Clyde. The apartment has been presented and furnished to a high standard, with newly fitted deep pile carpets and is unusual in that it has 2 full bathrooms (1 being ensuite to the master double bedroom). For a small space it is remarkably well equipped and the Victorian colour scheme uses original period colours, giving a light and spacious feel to the whole apartment.
Beautifully kept communal gardens are available for our guests to enjoy, although please be aware that this space is shared with other residents within the building.
The owners of Bellevue Bute are not resident on the island but any problems at all during your stay please call the mobile number provided after booking, prior to your arrival.

What makes this property unique
Although very close to Rothesay centre, Bellevue Bute enjoys a tranquil and peaceful location from which to enjoy the stunning views.
The apartment is in an ideal location, being approximately 500 m from the centre of Rothesay and the main ferry terminal. Far enough away to be peaceful and quiet, but close enough to mean that all local amenities are within an easy 5 to 10 minute walk along the seafront promenade. There is a local artisan bakery and cafe 5 minutes walk away, ideal for breakfast pastries and coffee. Within Rothesay itself you will find a range of pubs, cafes and restaurants including a gin garden at the local distillery, all within easy walking distance. There is a strong live music scene in Rothesay with many pubs hosting live musicians and bands regularly., although there will always be a quiet alternative if you prefer. There are also a large number of takeaways, many of whom will deliver to Bellevue Bute.
