About this property
Duxford - Stunning 18th Century Church Conversion
Summary:
Step into this timeless elegant church built in 1794 situated in the beautiful village of Duxford just outside of the bustling Cambridge City centre.
The Grade II listed church has been sympathetically converted into two boutique mezzanine one bedroom apartments, whilst in keeping with the buildings graceful original features. The conversion of the church is featuring on BBC 1 'Homes Under the Hammer'.
The Space:
As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a light and airy open plan space with a luxury kitchen and chic lounge. The well appointed kitchen contains everything you would need to dine during your stay, including a wine cooler, fridge/freezer, oven, washing machine, dishwasher and utensils. The downstairs also features a cloakroom. Following on, guests can sit back and relax in the grand high-ceiling lounge, a beautiful space to enjoy complimentary Netflix or perhaps read a book in the hanging egg chair?
Leading upstairs onto the mezzanine comes the decadent master suite with zip link king size bed, walk in wardrobe and modern ensuite bathroom including a large shower. The perfect space for a blissful nights sleep.
The sofa downstairs converts into a double bed making the chapel an ideal accommodation for groups of friends or family for up to four guests.
Guest Access:
Guests have full and exclusive use of the entire apartment and will not be disturbed during their stay.
The Neighborhood:
Situated in the heart of Duxford, a village idylically located in the Cambridgeshire countryside, complete with pubs and restaurants, perfect for keen walkers and cyclists.
Only 15 minutes outside of Cambridge city centre, this is the perfect base to explore the array of restaurants, bars, shops and museums Cambridge has to offer! Indulge punting down the River Cam taking in the serene scenery whilst devouring strawberries and cream and perhaps a glass of champagne or two?
Well sought after and popular village surrounded by walks, cycle paths, pubs and cafes. Two minute drive to the M11 so easy access for Addenbrookes and all science parks.
If you're looking for memorable animal encounters, the place is just 17 minutes away from Shepreth Wildlife Park and Linton Zoo.
Just a minute drive to The Plough Public House, a popular intimate village pub. For food, we recommend the highly rated Provenance Brix + Mortar restaurant in Hill Farm road.
The local Cost Cutter is only a three minute walk away. Alternatively the Waitrose superstore is only a ten minute drive.
Getting Around:
Cambridge City Aiport and London Stansted Airport are both less than 30 minutes from the apartment.
Nearest bus stops are on St. John's Street 3-minute walk north of the apartment and Petersfield Road also 3-minute walk.
Costcutter, a local convenience store is just 3-minute walk from the apartment.
Other Things to Note:
No groups or stag/hen parties. No groups of friends under 30 please. If you are a group of friends please contact us first to provide more information about your stay, thank you.
