In the middle of the Dutch polder, on the edge of Alphen aan den Rijn, lies our charming farm Maria’s Lust with 3 comfortable holiday homes and stunning views over the meadows. Enjoy peace, space, and the beauty of rural life.

The house offers:
• Fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, microwave oven, fridge with freezer)
• Free Wi-Fi and air conditioning
• 2 bedrooms with comfortable box-spring beds (can be made as single or double beds)

5 stars for this nice place surrounded by fields & animals. The appartment is fully equipped and has a beautiful view on fields and farm animals like chickens and alpacas. The place was VERY clean & tidy and Petra is a helpful & kind host who made our stay very relaxing.

Completely relaxing in nature

Charming holiday apartment on a farm, with alpacas, sheep and water right outside the door. Beautiful cycling and hiking trails. Very friendly host. A great base for city trips (Amsterdam, Delft, Leiden, Den Haag, Rotterdam), the North Sea (Noordwijk, Katwijk) and the tulip fields (Lisse, Keukenhof).

Beautiful location and quietWell maintained and clean apartment- more than enough space for a family.The fresh eggs were also delicious and can be bought from Petra directly-The alpacas and horses were relaxing to watch as we sat at the outside table for peace and quiet at dinner time. It’s about a 25 minute drive into Leiden or Gouda so having a car is useful

Insgesamt schöne Unterkunft. Es gab täglich frische Eier von den Hofhühnern und niedliche Alpakas direkt vor der Unterkunft. Etwas ab vom Schuss gelegen, aber dafür mit dem Auto schnell in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Gouda oder am Meer, z.B. in Katwijk.Was wir vermisst haben, waren ausreichend Miet-Fahrräder vor Ort (nur zwei vorhanden) und im Badezimmer ein Fenster zum öffnen und Handtuchhalter.

Sehr idyllisch und angenehm

Es war ein sehr süßes und gemütliches Haus. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Alpakas, Pferde und Enten vorm Haus zu haben war einfach schön. Es war ruhig und angenehm. Ab und an fuhr ein Traktor vorbei, was ein Highlight für unseren Sohn war.

Vom Trubel in die Ruhe

Nach Unternehmungen in die umliegenden Städte Leiden, Gouda, den Haag, Delft kamen wir gerne in das behagliche und ästhetisch eingerichtete Ferienhaus zurück mit Blick in die Weite und auf den Kanal vor dem Haus. Direkt von der Ferienwohnung aus gibt es wunderbare Fahrradwege. Wir haben die Ferienwohnung sehr genossen und können sie weiterempfehlen.

Ruhig, sauber, geräumig. Familienfreundlich.

Wir haben die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sehr genossen. Viel Natur, schöne Plätze am Rhein. Hotspots wie z. Bsp. Amsterdam, Scheveningen, Katwijk, Gouda mit dem Auto schnell erreichbar. Leider aufgrund der Grachten und Tiere viele Mücken. Nur 3 kl. Fenster waren durch Mücken Schutz zum Lüften gesichert. Keine Thermovorhänge vor den Fenstern, deshalb heizten sich die Räume sehr schnell auf. Ansonsten alles in allem eine tolle Unterkunft. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Schöne Ferienwohnung

Schöne Ferienwohnung mit allem was es braucht. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Die Lage war für uns sehr gut. Amsterdam, Rotterdam und Strand sind mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Die Kinder konnten sich auf dem Trampolin oder der Schaukel sehr gut verweilen und habe gerne die Tiere beobachtet. Wir können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.

Welcoming and comfortable home on a farm

Petra and her family were very welcoming and accommodating. It was lovely staying right next to the field with the animals - our little one loved it! The house is *just* outside the town, in green fields, but still only a short bike ride or drive into the centre. The house was airy and spacious, and the kitchen was well equipped. A couple of things to be aware of: being right next to the water and the fields there is something of a mosquito problem, so all the windows that open have meshes over them to keep the bugs out. We still got a few bites. Secondly, although the property is advised as having a washing machine, it is in a shared room, and you have to pay to use it (€2.50). Probably not a problem for most people, but with a baby we wanted to do a lot of washing! Overall a great stay. Thanks Petra!

Gute Unterkunft für Familien

Das Haus ist recht neu, sehr gepflegt und gut ausgestattet. Auf dem Hof gibt es einige Tiere (wie z.B. Alpakas) und einen Garten mit Schaukel, Trampolin, Bällen, etc. In Alphen aan den Rijn gibt es das äußerst lohnenswerte Archeon, in dem man eine Zeitreise von der Steinzeit bis ins Mittelalter unternimmt. Die direkte Umgebung ist sehr landwartschaftlich geprägt. Die Straßen und Wege entlang der unzähligen kleinen Kanäle sind ideal für Fahrradtouren auch mit kleinen Kindern.

Sehr schön und erholsam

Wir hatten drei sehr, sehr schöne Wochen in ruhiger Umgebung. Man genießt einen schönen Blick auf die Landschaft. Wann immer man schaut, ist irgendetwas zu beobachten....Die Alpakas sind liebenswerte Tiere, Enten schwimmen an der Terrasse vorbei, Vogelschwärme fliegen über das Haus, alles wirkt friedlich. Gleichzeitig bietet die Lage eine superschnelle Verbindung zu den interessanten Metropolen Amsterdam, Rotterdam und Den Haag. Die Strände sind gleichfalls schnell zu erreichen, genau wie viele andere sehenswerte Ziele. Kurz gesagt: eine optimale Unterkunft bei einer dazu noch sehr netten Vermieterin.
