The property was very well presented, equipped and comfortable, although the bed in the eaves may be a challenge for some!It was great to be able to see (and travel on) the trains. We were invited to view the signal box.The area is lovely, with lots to do nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - highly recommended.
Loved staying on the Railway, and a bonus is being able to catch a steam train from your doorstep! Everything we needed was in the acomodation but some things looked and felt a bit tired. Beds and sofa comfotable and it had a great shower.
Staying on a platform with occasional steam trains passing by. Wonderful experience. Cottage is well equipped and close to Llangollen and Corwen for shops. Having the beds made as double requires some gymnastics as headroom is limited in the converted loft. Overall a lovely place to stay and well recommended. In addition we chatted to the signalman and he happily gave us a tour of the signal box.
My husband loves steam trains so staying in the porter’s lodge right on the platform was an ideal choice. Sadly we were too early in the season to see or ride on steam trains but it was still fun to see the diesel ones. The cottage was larger than I thought… perfect for the 2 of us. Large well equipped kitchen (a guide on using the cooker would have been useful but we coped very well) and lounge with sofa, arm chair and wood burner which we enjoyed on one evening. Information about places to visit was provided.Downstairs bathroom. Bedroom under the eaves (beware tall visitors) had 2 single beds made into king size for us. Hanging rail was fine and there were plenty of drawers for clothes. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Thank you to Stephen for his speedy replies to our queries.

I am a busy professional and work together with my two housekeepers Richard and Steve. My husband and I own Stately Trains and run our train services through different Heritage Railways. We get immense pleasure by looking after our guests.
Why they chose this property
We acquired both Station house and Porter's lodge over 10 years ago. The properties are by the Llangollen heritage railway line. They were genuine station master's house and ticket's office.
What makes this property unique
Outstanding scenery, quiet, a working steam railway and plenty of attractions nearby.
