Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Town: Located on the Menai Strait and offering breathtaking views of the Snowdonia mountain range, Beaumaris is a popular historic town on the Isle of Anglesey. Also well-known as a yachting hub, it is home to a castle from the time of Edward I (now a World Heritage site), as well as a Victorian pier, gaol, and courthouse. Historic Beaumaris still has many of its original mediaeval streets. The town's atmosphere, variety of architectural styles and periods, scale, open spaces, roof types, and general quality all play significant roles in shaping its unique identity. You can go fishing or on a boat tour, or even play a round of golf; the town has everything you could want. Red Wharf Bay is a sizable bay along the coast; in Welsh, it is known as Traeth Coch (Red Beach), and it is well-known for its breathtaking sunsets. Due to the bay's shallow depth, almost 25 square kilometres (10 square miles) of sand are exposed during low tide, making it ideal for safe swimming, great for family outings, fishing, and miles of breathtaking scenic strolls. Farther afield is Holyhead, where you can take a ferry to Dublin whenever you like. Beaumaris is ideally situated on the south coast of the picture-perfect Isle of Anglesey, making it a convenient home base from which to explore the rest of Wales and its many attractions, including the majestic Snowdonia Mountains.
