Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There are 3 steps in the garden.. Nestled in a secluded valley near Soudley, Brookview Lodge is a homely, studio-style retreat offering a peaceful escape in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, this self-contained lodge provides a cosy open-plan space, with a sleeping and living area at one end, a well-equipped kitchen and dining space at the other, and a separate shower room. The real highlight is the covered terrace, where you can relax in the fresh air, take in the stunning views, and watch sheep grazing in the fields below.
A haven for wildlife lovers, the lodge’s tranquil setting attracts regular sightings of wild boar, deer, otters in the brook, European pine martens, and ducks on the river. Whether you start your day with a morning coffee on the terrace, listening to birdsong and the babbling brook, or unwind in the evening under the starry sky, this is the perfect spot to reconnect with nature.
Although the lodge offers a wonderfully secluded feel, there’s plenty to explore nearby. Wander through the enchanting Soudley Ponds, Wenchford natural forest, and Mallards Pike, or venture further afield to Gloucester, the Cotswolds, and the Wye Valley. Outdoor enthusiasts will find endless activities, from horse riding, golf, and fishing to mountain biking, canoeing, and rock climbing. Popular attractions such as Puzzlewood, Go Ape, Tintern Abbey, and the Dean Forest Steam Railway ensure there’s something for everyone.
