A very comfortable house in an excellent location.
Prospect Cottage was comfortable and well equipped. The efficient heating system was much appreciated as the weather was rather cold for late April. The house is spacious and has everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. It’s only 2 minutes walk from the High Street and the same distance to the Military Canal. The sea front is about 10 minutes. It’s also very quiet in spite of being close to the main road. I wasn’t impressed by the way previous guests had left the kitchen utensils and cutlery. I had to wash each item before I could use it. The TV was a bit of a mystery but we were able to watch the ordinary channels. My husband adjusted the indoor aerial to improve reception and got a slight shock. This is a well situated house and we would definitely recommend.

Beautiful Hythe in January
This cottage is in a great location - just a stones throw from the High Street, canal and a short flat walk to the sea (and a small green dog exercise area near the canal). We enjoyed some great eateries over a long weekend and were blessed with sunny (if a little chilly) weather. The bedrooms are huge! The cottage has original doors and windows so noise suppression isn’t great, but the road isn’t terribly busy so all in all didn’t detract too much from the stay (although the heating was essential to help balance out the occasional draughty window). The place was immaculately clean with good quality, soft and comfortable linens. The tv was a bit of a mystery - it had google chromecast but we couldn’t fathom it out - the weather was so lovely though that it didn’t matter. The option of a stair gate for the bottom of the stairs would have been helpful - we ended up using a dining chair to ensure our dogs didn’t even think about attempting the stairs - but the paint was a little flaky so made a bit of a mess in the hallway. I would definately come here again - although the price was a little steep as there was only 2 of us in an off-season period, as was the £60 charge for the dogs for 3 days.

The accommodation was excellent! Beds very good and the rooms and kitchen very spacious. What we missed are bedside lamps in the back bedroom and a chair to sit on if you want to change. We also missed a cupboard with hangers for a dress, shirt or jacket. In the bathroom an extra shelf for the toiletry bag would be very nice, as well as extra hooks for towels. A coat rack for coats would also be very nice, especially if the weather is wet so that the coats can dry somewhere. When we arrived and wanted to use something, we noticed that almost all the crockery, glasses and cutlery were dirty. Plates were messily stacked and wet. Fingers and dirt on the wine glasses, unwashed cutlery. We only cleaned what we used. We were missing (enough) tea towels in the kitchen, how do you dry the dishes? The central heating was only on in the morning and evening, not during the day, it was very difficult to get the house warm. We contacted the agency and they later said that there was a clock on the stove in the kitchen, luckily this was resolved. Curtain rail in the living room, the curtain on the right kept falling off, there appeared to be no final battle on the rails, provisionally solved with a piece of plastic. A personal welcome would also be very nice, going through everything together is very nice for the course of the holiday. Sorry for my funny English… Regards, Hanne Ruiter from The Netherlands

Pretty house in a great location
We had a lovely week in Hythe staying at Prospect Cottage. The house is beautifully decorated and very spacious, with everything you need. I particularly loved browsing the large selection of cook books.
