Big Sky Hideaway - Luxury Cottages
At a glance
A large, eco-friendly shepherd's hut with a hand-crafted hot tub and countryside views Plenty of country walking trails and cycling routes begin from the farm Fantastic for exploring Offa's Dyke, cider mills and the Black and White Villages
About the property
Set on a working farm with over 250 acres of land, Big Sky Hideaway offers a tranquil escape for two. This delightful shepherd's hut boasts a large living space, a Hikki wood-fired hot tub and total tranquillity from the minute you arrive. Be sure to bring your wellies as you'll be whisked off beyond the crop field to enjoy your very own secluded escape with nothing but the natural sounds of the countryside and the sweet sight of fallow deer roaming the farm. If you wish to reconnect with nature and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we think you'll love it here.
If you love the sound of this place but need more bedrooms, the shepherd's hut can be booked as a combination of two or a collection of three with Powk Meadow Farmhouse and Curious Calf via our Guest Services team.
The space
Big Sky Hideaway has been lovingly hand-crafted with 100% recycled materials from the owners' farm. It features reclaimed wood throughout, nature-inspired artwork and vibrant pops of colour to complement the rustic interiors.
The shepherd's hut begins with an outdoor living space with idyllic views across the crop field and ample seating space so you can fully immerse yourself in nature. Lounge in the wood-fired hot tub, relax under the canopy with a coffee in-hand and enjoy the soothing sound of birdsong until the sky fills with stars.
As you step inside the shepherd's hut through the patio doors, you are greeted by an open-plan space with a quaint kitchen complete with an induction hob, a fridge, a kettle and a selection of utensils and crockery. The lounge provides an inviting sofa, a second set of double doors with exceptional views, a cosy wood-burning stove and WiFi. You will also have the added benefit of Welsh wool insulation to keep you extra toasty.
Beside the kitchen is a stylish WC with a rain head shower, eco-friendly toiletries and fluffy towels.
The bedroom is divided by a partial wall beside the living room, but carefully designed to feel cosy and relaxing. There is a rustic double bed dressed in soft linen sheets and colourful cushions, with the added bonus of a floor-to-ceiling window so you can enjoy panoramic views from the minute you wake up to the minute you go to sleep.
Guest access
The shepherd's hut is accessed via a crop field and the owners will greet you on arrival and show you into the property.

There is no single-use plastic, only refillable and eco-cleaning products are used. The farm also commits to the conservation of wildlife habitats.
Please note, the first basket of wood will be free and additional refills will be £10 per basket.
We plant a tree for every booking we make to help offset some of the carbon emissions generated by our stays.
