The lodge overall was very homely, spotless and well equipped, especially the kitchen. One thing I would suggest is a more robust clothes airer to dry any laundry/swimwear/wetsuits after a day out doing outdoor activities in the Lakes district. Some of the furniture such as the sofa and armchairs were little bit worn and not particularly comfortable to sit on. Also the patio furniture was quite weathered and covered in cobwebs. Just needed a quick jet wash. Some outdoor cushions to add to the chairs would be a great addition.

Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. So lovely we’ve rebooked for our anniversary and requested the same lodge. The bathrooms are very nice, central heating throughout, the cabin was very clean and loved the feature of the dishwasher and washer/dryer. The perfect little lodge! And the log burner was so nice to curl up on the armchair and read in front of. The beds are relatively comfortable but most of the pillows were lumpy. Not a deal breaker but hotel pillows wouldn’t go a miss.

We arrived early so had a drink in the bar, check in was at 4 but they started to let people check in at 15:40, it was smooth and there were no issues, the lady was friendly and very helpful. As we got to the lodge the main entrance was covered in bird poo, that had definitely been left there a while, we did notice 3 nest right above the door which could not be help but it was obvious there had been no attempt to clean the poo, we went back to reception and showed them photos to which we were told "you could just use the other door" this is true but why should we, the main door is where you would leave bags and shoes, walking boots, it was an actual area for those things, not walking directly into the living/kitchen area. After explaining this they did send someone over who jet washed it away, it was completely clean but it was a big difference. Inside was mostly clean, expect the toilet in the main bathroom, the lid was already up so you could see there was lite skids on the seat unsure if it was stained i wiped it but in horror it came off easy which made mr think they hadnt been cleaned at all, which is disgusting, after further inspection i found under the seat was dirty and the actual base. Everywhere else did look ok though, not spotless but nothing worth making a fuss over. There are positives, the views from the lodge (45) where amazing, it was so peaceful and quiet, it had everything you needed in the kitchen, the tv was abit hit and miss with signal the sane with th

Beautiful lodge with great facilities for self catering.

Beautiful lodge with great facilities for self catering. The lodge was spacious and comfortable. The view from the lodge was pleasant overlooking the pond from the twin room. The twin room needed more storage space for two people and more hangers in the wardrobe as we could not unpack and it was a struggle to organise our things during the holiday. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was nice and hot. Overall, we had a great time and lots of family memories made.

Using the shower over the bath the water was not draining even thiugh the pug was open, i had to pull it right out for the bath to empty and then i realised it was because it was blocked with thick hairs so had not had a proper clean in a while. Other than that it was a lovely place to stay, comfortable and welcoming. It had all you needed including a washing machine and dishwasher. This makes life easier especially when you are on holiday.

We felt mislead

We booked as we thought it was a weekend break with a hot tub. It has hot tubs on site but we did not have one as we had planned and was really disappointing. I called Sean the manager and did not feel heard or supported and he was not able to aid me in who to complain to as it could be Jose’s sons or berbo but he could not help so we had no options to discuss with anyone else. I shared with him after looking at reviews that this same miscommunication on the reviews had happened to others. I would not have booked if we did not have a hot tub but was told it was just premier lodges. We did not know it was not a premier lodge. Would not return sadly due to not feeling that our disappointment was handled with understanding or support.
