This south facing loft style gite overlooks our lovely stone terrace with stunning, far reaching views of the mountains. On some days you can see the snow capped Pyrenees. The cosy gite has a log burner and electric heating to suit your needs and keep you warm if you stay in the cooler months. We have retained the original roof beams (circa 300 years old) giving this gite a traditional feel yet there all the modern comforts of a new home. This gite has a large living room with double bed, mezzanine kitchen with seating for six and a family bathroom. There's a further bedroom with two bunks beds (four single beds) and en suite bathroom. The newly fitted kitchen includes washing machine, gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and plenty of cupboard space. There are toddler / baby stair gates and a high chair and travel cost available. All rooms have south facing windows and there is satellite TV.
The gite comes with it's own outdoor terrace (behind the property - this does not have valley views) with sofa, table for six, children's swing and BBQ. There is a lovely big heated pool, security fencing and washing / toilet facilities, an adventure playground, tree platform and play pond. There are three other gites on site as well as our family home.
The whole farmhouse and land has a magical, tranquil atmosphere. In the evening the building, terraces and drive are lit up to create an ethereal ambiance allowing guests to enjoy the atmosphere in to the night. We have many children's toys, instruments and costumes - children often make friends and entertain their parents with shows on the main terrace. We try to do a film soiree once a week on the main terrace for all the families. Les Coumayres is a sociable place for guests - children can be free and creative in a safe environment, surrounded by nature. There are many tracks and gardens to explore the wonderful countryside. The weather in summer is usually sunny and comfortably warm, unlike the coast which can be too hot.
Nearby there are lakes with water sports, zip lining, kayaking, canyoning, medieval villages, open air markets, local fetes, stunning countryside to explore including gorgeous and waterfalls.
