Boaventura Hikers Comfort a spacious house on the scenic north coast

A spacious house which can serve as a great and peaceful base to explore the North Coast from Santana to Porto Moniz. Some of the furniture is antique but the mattresses are new and the sofas super comfortable. Wooden parquet floors in the bedroom and living room.

There is big traditional BBQ with nearby sink and a large terrace.

There is ample wardrobe space, a washing machine, clothes dryer and a well equipped kitchen with electric hob, oven and microwave as well as a fridge/freezer suitable for short and longer stays.

In addition to the traditional living room there is a modern sitting room. Both have flat screen TVs and 200+ TV/radio channels. The sitting room is adjacent to a office with a desk. WiFi and CAT5 internet is available (500mbs).

Excusez les madériens, c’est un anglais qui a racheté la maison, ou plutôt ce grand couloir : pour aller de la salle de bain au salon, il faut traverser la cuisine puis une première chambre puis une seconde chambre puis une troisième pour enfin arriver : pas pratique et surtout aucune intimité. Chaque pièce est équipée d’une porte donnant sur l’extérieur. Ces portes ne sont pas équipées de volets, mais de stores trop courts qui n’occultent donc pas la lumière du jour. Tous les vitrages sont simples, donc aucune isolation phonique des bruits de l’extérieur. Tous les éléments d’équipement et mobilier ne sont que bricolage exécuté sans aucun goût ou récupérations hétéroclites. Tout y est vieux, y compris les odeurs persistantes que dégage cet intérieur. Beaucoup de connexions électriques dans la salle de bain représentent un danger.Tout est homogène, certes, mais dans la médiocrité. Les matelas sont très durs pour ceux qui aiment avoir mal ai dos au réveil. Il faudra laisser votre voiture dans la rue, sauf si vous avez une fiat 500, car la place de parking proposée est petite. Bref, pour le prix demandé, c’est du foutage de gueule ! Mais notre Anglais a de l’humour puisqu’il a appelé son taudis : Boaventura Hikers COMFORT !! Je suis certain que lui-même ne vit pas dans cette catégorie de « confort »… Hé l’Anglais ! Shame on you !

Why they chose this property

We have properties in Machico, Funchal and on the Scenic North Coast of Madeira. This house is a great base for hikers and few minutes drive from the pool complex in Ponta Delgada. With the road upgrades it can now be easily reached from the airport and is less than 30 minutes from the traditional houses in Santana and the sandy beach in Machico if you get bored of hiking!
