A recently converted and very well maintained cottage. Comfortably furnished to an excellent standard by the friendly owners who live in the adjacent property. Very conveniently situated close to the centre of town and surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside. An ideal base for walking & cycling and sampling the fine ales of the Three Tuns Brewery.
Fantastic hide away in the centre of Bishops Castle...
Enjoyed a three day break to celebrate a Birthday. Fantastic base and our hosts were extremely welcoming. Home from home.
No rain, either!

Lovely property, v clean and comfortable. Owners friendly.
Welcome pack included a lovely home made lemon drizzle cake and jar of marmalade.
Lovely garden and patio. Easy parking.
Works to a house on the path to the property meant it was a bit muddy.
Excellent country style property, well decorated and comfortable internally with great side garden for outside relaxing..Owners just across the road introduced themselves and left a nice welcome pack including Milk etc and home made drizzle cake ..top quality ..left us to our own devices but on hand if required..excellent accommodation in the centre of town but in quite area …walking distance to centre of town and easy to get into the countryside …excellent experience
Writers Lodge is beautifully appointed with everything you could need including a bed so comfortable I had to prise myself out of it.
Caroline and Bob (the hosts) live just across the courtyard and they couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful and respectful of privacy.
Bishops Castle is charming and is in a textbook, beautifully English location. Nice pubs, book shops and indie cafes plus terrific mountain biking and hill walking within seconds of the property.
PS: Caroline's Lemon Drizzle cake and home made marmalade was a thoughtful and delicious welcome gift.
Lovely welcome from our hosts, friendly but not intrusive.
The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with quality fixtures and fittings. Beautiful patio area with an abundance of colourful plants. Centrally located in the town but tucked away in a secluded quiet area. Lots of interesting books to read, just not sufficient time in our busy schedule. We chose not to take the car and arrived by local bus from Shrewsbury. As keen walkers we had a wonderful time exploring the area, never missed the car, so many fabulous walks from the doorstep. Did the evening walk around the town with John as our guide, very interesting and informative. Lots to do and lots to see from a perfect base.
