About this property

Peaceful South Cottage, Bainvalley Cottages

Located at the end of a private drive, on the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, this former farm worker cottage has been lovingly renovated to incorporate all the comforts of modern open-plan living whilst retaining it’s traditional charm. You'll enjoy an abundance of peace and tranquillity and enjoy the big open skies that offer starlight viewing too. Perfect for couples, business travellers, families (with kids), groups and furry friends. Tennis court & beach hut available too. With under-floor heating, double glazing and a wood burning stove the accommodation is warm and cosy year round. We installed superfast broadband; with free WiFi you can choose to stay connected throughout your stay, though we recommend making the most of the peace and quiet and going off grid for a few days! As you enter the cottage, for your convenience there is a downstairs toilet room and a cloakroom for your coats and shoes. The open-plan kitchen/dining area is equip with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is a solid wood dining table with 6 chairs and two small cupboards with more than enough saucepans and crockery for your stay. A comfortable leather three piece suite is arranged around the wood-burning stove and zonal spot lights allow for varied lighting scenarios to suit your mood and activity. The LED VIERA TV allows you to relax watching your favourite programmes and there is a selection of easy reading books for you to choose as well as various games in the toy box! The garden room is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, with panoramic views overlooking the Bain valley; you have undisrupted views of pasture and often the cows will be around for you to enjoy watching too. You’ll wake up overlooking the cattle-grazing in your king-sized bed from the main bedroom. A walk-in wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables will allow you to unpack and feel at home and if you’re a fan of television in bed, there is a smaller television in this room. The second bedroom has twin beds and also looks over the fields to the willow tree. There is a chest of drawers and bedside tables in this room. With luxurious 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding you will sleep sumptuously in both bedrooms. In the large upstairs bathroom, there is a choice of either a full-size bath or separate corner shower with a washbasin, toilet and heated towel rail. South Cottage is attached to North Cottage, the layout of which is mirrored. There are interconnecting doors that we can open for large groups and arrange furniture for you to dine together in one cottage and lounge together in the other. When not in use for a larger group, the interconnecting doors are locked with insulation inserted between. The fields not being used by the cattle can be used for dog walking immediately outside the cottage. There is oodles of space for parking. John and I are nearly always here and available to help you whatever your problem. We've been here for 36 years so have a wealth of knowledge of the area so just ask! From the cottages there are short walks around the village and a really well equipped play area in the village. The pub is only 7 minutes walk away and does food from Wednesday to Sunday. Cars are needed to see Lincolnshire but if you walk about 1 mile the bus from Lincoln to Skegness leaves hourly. As well as the tennis court freely available for guests, we have a beach hut on our closest sandy beach which can be hired.
