An absolutely perfect spot from which to explore if you wish, stay there and surround yourself with natural beauty if you prefer a low key vacation. Madame Dominique’s mile and manner are among the best. We loved every minute.
Madame Cordesse and her lovely homes were more than I could imagine. We loved our stay and the quiet neighborhood. I felt as if I lived there, it was wonderful!
A Cozy Parisian Escape: Charming Cottage Stay in Malakoff
In May, we had the pleasure of staying at Dominique’s charming cottage—a perfectly cozy retreat for our party of two. The lush garden became our little sanctuary, ideal for savoring a morning coffee or simply soaking up the warm sunlight. Malakoff itself was a delightful surprise—vibrant, diverse, and navigable, with friendly locals who made us feel welcome. The town had everything we needed, from restaurants and boulangeries to grocery stores and banks. It was refreshing to be just outside the bustling heart of Paris, offering a peaceful escape from the tourist crowds while still remaining connected. The cottage was conveniently located—a five-minute walk to bus stops leading into the city and only twenty minutes from the main train station. Dominique was a fantastic host, offering great restaurant recommendations and even helping us track down a store in Paris for specialty plates. If you're looking for a comfortable, well-situated stay, I highly recommend this lovely home.
This was a perfect gem on the outskirts of paris, with a lovely garden, a kitchen with some food included( very thoughtful) and a helpful owner…will definitely like to stay again!!!
Our week with Madame staying in her lovely backyard cottage was our favorite stay during our 3 weeks in Europe! The cottage is lovely and well appointed, close to the fantastic metro, and Madame shared her expert knowledge of Paris and her neighborhood. Beautiful!
We loved the quiet neighborhood with easy access to the train and all of Paris. Dominique is a lovely, interesting, and thoughtful host. She provided us with all the information we needed to find our way. We hope to visit again!
Dominique welcomed us and had lots of information about the neighborhood, shops, market and transportation to Paris. She is charming as is the cottage. We appreciated the stocked kitchen and dishwasher.
The Garden House was perfect for our recent stay in the Paris area. It was a great location and more than met all our needs. Mme. Cordesse was also an incredibly cordial and gracious host. We would definitely consider staying there again whenever in the Paris region.

This place is not in the city heart but that made it even better. Woke up in the mornings and all you could hear was birds and all you smelled was the wysteria. Market, cafes and restaurant all within a couple of blocks as was mass transportation. Dominique was absolutely lovely. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Loved our stay at Dominique’s cottage. Everything was perfect. Very clean. A nice welcome basket. Decorated beautifully with original artwork. Enough space for three adults. You do have to walk through the owners home to get to your cottage. It wasn’t a problem. It was nice to see Dominique and chat with her. We are ready to book another stay here.
From the moment we were greeted by Dominique, through the entire stay, we felt right at home. Dominique was so welcoming and she took the time to orient us with the area. She was a wealth of information and always so gracious. The m guest house is very comfortable. She has everything you could ever need. The garden is so beautiful and well manicured. The area is safe and it was great to get a true experience of how life would be to live in Paris. A quick Metro ride to the center of Paris. We truly enjoyed our stay and will be back next time we are in Paris.
We are so love this house and Dominique. She is so kind. She has prepared many fruits and eggs also breads for our breakfast we did not expect. On the strike day, she dropped off us to the location we had to go. The house is clean and decorated very pretty. We definitely come back if we come back to Paris again.
Thank you very much!

Dominique is a wonderful hostess and very accommodating. We are very grateful for the food she provided for us. We were looking forward to the quiet neighbourhood but there was a loud machine going all day next door and was still going at 7pm on Saturday night - not sure if it's temporary as previous guests haven't mentioned it. Other than that 10/10!
We were welcomed by our gracious hostess with a smile and offer of assistance getting into our cottage. She provided information about the neighborhood, restaurants/cafes nearby, the Metro (very important!) and grocery shopping. She was delightful and interested in what we were doing on our trip and what she might do to make our stay more comfortable. The cottage was clean, had everything we needed and more (starters for breakfast!) and a beautiful garden setting. Her appreciation of art, traditional and contemporary, was a bonus and encouraged us to see more than we might have otherwise. We sincerely hope to revisit Dominque and the cottage again!
My husband, our 18 year old son, and I stayed in the garden studio during our time in Paris. The studio had everything we could need and was impeccably clean. Madam Dominique was a delightful host. Guests should be aware that to access the studio you will need to walk through madam’s home. It was a joy to be greeted by her as we left for the day or came home in the evening. The studio is incredibly safe. It is a little was to public transportation- perhaps 10 mins. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay.
My wife and I recently enjoyed a 2-week stay in this charming rental property in Malakoff, just outside of Paris, very close to the 14th arrondissement.
The apartment is actually a separate, independent cottage situated in a garden behind the house of the property owner, Madame Dominique Cordesse, on the rue Vincent Moris.
We could not have imagined a more idyllic, peaceful and relaxing setting. Each morning we were greeted by the fragrant aroma of the roses and jasmine that surround the cottage, and by the melodic chirping of songbirds.
The cottage itself is very clean, nicely furnished and equipped with all the modern amenities. In order to enter or exit the cottage from the street, it is necessary to pass through the property owner’s home, but we did not consider this to be an inconvenience at all.
The owner/hostess is a gracious, kind and fascinating woman whom we came to admire and adore during our brief stay, and we look forward to a return visit someday.

We had some doubts about staying outside of Paris for our first visit, but this property was perfect. Our Paris days were long, busy, and a bit stressful. It was so nice to come back to our garden house and decompress and talk about our day. Mme. Dominique was kind and patient with our complete inability to speak French. She was able to give us great advice on getting to the various sites in the city and how to get to the local market.
The garden house was so nice. It's quite large and decorated with original artwork and comfortable furnishings and very clean. We could have happily stayed there for months. There are a couple different metro stops within 10-15 min walk. There are also bus routes, which take a bit longer, but allow you to see more of the city which was great.
If you are looking for a peaceful place with a fantastic host and plenty of room, look no further.
I couldn't have enjoyed my stay more! I was in town for a conference at Porte de Versailles and La Maison du Jardin was the perfect getaway from the bustle of a large exposition. Dominique, the owner, was very accommodating, allowing me to store my luggage several hours before check-in and greeting me with coffee and croissants when I did so.
The apartment itself was wonderful, with plenty of space and light. I was also very thankful for the air conditioning, since temperatures were hovering around 38C during my stay.
Transportation via transit was very convenient, with the T3 tram, 13 Metro, and several bus routes being 8-10 minute walks.
Definitely hope to return!
